Meeting most of my ex girlfriends
But now I'm OK
But now I'm OK
My biggest regret now - and it gets more of a regret each day is that I didn't appreciate life when I was younger.
I'm sure there are a few of us who could possibly say the same??
But when I was young, I thought I was immortal, when I was 20 I couldn't even imagine being 40 and now, before I've realised it, I'm 53
In no morbid way, I probably think of death at least once each day and struggle to get my head around I probably only have 20-25 summers left - if I'm lucky.
I appreciate I have lived as long as I have and there are many who don't even get to the age of 53...........but I do regret not appreciating life at an earlier age
No Remorse. You can buy one for between 50-100 quid.Selling all my vinyl for next to nothing when c.d’s appeared , including a double leather covered Motörhead album that I’ve never seen anywhere else since
Nothing specific, I don't think, just realising that time is precious and when you're young, you cannot comprehend that one day it will all be over. How do you think you could have appreciated it more mate?
When your young you don’t think about getting older, you live your life the best way you can, work hard support your family, keep out of trouble and bring your kids up to respect others good manners and be polite. If you can say you’ve done that then that alone is a massive achievement, and has you get older remember the good times when you young and look forward to the good times as you get older.Nothing specific, I don't think, just realising that time is precious and when you're young, you cannot comprehend that one day it will all be over.
The phrases "Time is precious" and "youth is wasted on the young" resonate with me the more I get older - used to think nothing of playing football a few times a week, having a good few scoops and being able to function the next day and generally be blase about life itself.
Now I'm older (and this isn't exclusive to me) I ache everyday, I'm unable to do half the things I used to and as I said, generally struggle with the fact I'm "one day closer to death" (as Pink Floyd sang!!!)
I think my regret is that I didn't fully embrace how fortunate I was when I was younger and now I do realise how fortunate I was, half of my life is over.
