Birmingham receive 9 point deduction

Can anyone name a single professional league club that has gone out of business and genuinely no longer exists in some form? The only one I can think of is Rushden and Diamonds, whose history went all the way back to 1992. This idea that clubs are regularly destroyed by terrible owners is just bollocks. Clubs that 'go out of business' quickly return if they have the fanbase to support it. Look at Rangers. Officially folded and were back in the top flight about as quickly as they could be. Or Wimbledon, whose fans had their club stolen from them (where were the rules to stop that?) and within a few years actually surpassed MK Dons in the league. I find the concept of punishing a club that's in debt with an action that's likely to put them into more debt ridiculous.

Aldershot, 1926 to 1992, wound up in the High Court in 1992. Phoenox club Aldershot Town
Hereford United 1924 to 2014 wound up the High Court after a petition had been brought against it by HM Revenues and Customs, Phoenix club Hereford
Leeds City 1904 to 1919, disolved due to irregularities, after which Leeds United was established as a replacement.

It depends what you mean by 'return'.

Reforming is one thing, returning to the league isn't quite as easy.

Workington were once a league club, as were Maidstone and Halifax.

They've all reformed but none of them have yet made it back into the Football League.

What the fuck is wrong with these people? Burnley have been losing money so they deduct points off them pushing them close to the relegation places. How does that help anyone if they get relegated?
