Birthdays

Turned 56 on Tuesday, not with all the fuss that comes with it, don't drink or smoke etc, just reflect on self n grateful for another day whilst simply keeping it movin'

The way I see it, you should live every day like it's your birthday. — Paris Hilton

Bloody hell, some of the posts I've read on this subject don't half paint a morbid picture of the posters test have posted.

If you happen to have friends and family in your life that want to wish you a happy birthday then lucky you, you should probably embrace that regardless of whether you 'don't like the fuss'.

Don't get me wrong, I too don't particularly like a fuss being made but I also quite like the day as those that actually give a toss about me do contact me in some form or another to wish me well on the day and it'd a nice thing to receive.

Me and the wife generally have a day in town, few pubs and try to eat at a restaurant that we've not tried on each our birthdays or the Saturday after said birthday at least.

My birthday is also on the 17th May, it's a good date as there's sometimes a City game and possibly even an FA Cup final. This year its fell on the Real Madrid home game.

Just enjoy your birthday blues, it won't be long until you no longer have one.

Best ones I had were 18th and 21st coach booze parties - all been a bit meh since. Enjoy going out for a cheeky lobster as a treat oh and a decent champagne but I’m quite needy according to the mrs

im coming up to the OAP in a few days, a chelsea fan taking me out for a meal, being on my own its nice for people to wish you a happy birthday, Oh and city win against madrid on tuesday will make it better
