we bring through alot of youngsters, but apart from SWP and possibly ireland who when hes in the mood can be brilliant, i cant name a player who we have brought through the last few years who i think would get in a 'top 4' team.

Michael Johnson. I know hes been out for 18months but before injury he was top class.

question is, if the likes of ned and richards were at other clubs now and we were being linked with them, would you be happy with it? or would you be thinking we should be setting our sights higher?

Can't be bothered reading the whole post but just to pick up on the first comment that we have no history. This from a team who were still amatuers at the start of the 20th century and still playing in the southern league ffs! We'd already been a league club for several years before that.

As a Spurs fan the comments about you having no history make me cringe and is typical of the know nothing generation who think football started with the premier league. After all your last league win is before ours and you have always had a decent record in the cups.

I think our two clubs have a lot in common to be honest having red filth to contend with. I hope you do go on to win the League rather that than Chelski Arse or United but wouldn't mind us winning it first (some hope of that!!).

I'll say this without hesitation - it's more likely that Alex Ferguson will get sacked from the rags than it is that Sheikh Mansour and ADUG will 'up and leave' City. It simply will not happen.

He will EVENTUALLY leave, and when he does you had better hope your finances are better than they are right now

Even if you do achieve success, which I think you will, the history and infamy of the biggest teams with bigger trophy cabinets will always be ahead of you. You might have some temporary success, but you'll never be the biggest in the world, and neither will Spurs. Sad but true IMO. The name of the bigger clubs will always be the lure for the best players and as far as I see it, its a closed club.

To be honest, I'm happy for Juventus, Barcelona, United, Liverpool etc to be the "biggest" clubs around, let their fans bask in that knowledge. We don't need to be the biggest, just successful. If, in 10 years time, we've got Premiership titles, FA Cup wins and European trophies to our name (none of which is certain, but all of which are posibilities) then I don't care how "big" people say we are, the term "big" is used by people who are living in the past.

As for the comments Spurs fans, and to be fair others fans too, make about our owners leaving and us being "in the shit" financially if they do, well that just demonstrates a lack of knowledge about City. They aren't going to up and leave tomorrow, they've signed a deal with Manchester City Council to rennovate and rejuvenate the land surrounding COMS, building hotels, leisure facilities, casino, conference and concert sites, increase the stadium capacity to 60,000 etc. This is estimated to cost £1Billion and take 5 years to compete. Once this is done City keeps the vast majority of the revenue from these things going forward, which means we can more than meet our costs and comply with UEFA's new rules.
