Do you not see that the Sheikh wants to make us the biggest team in the world? If he ever leave it will be after he has achieved that!

I know you guys will probably start going mental and calling me names or anything else childish, but you'll never be one of the biggest clubs in the world.

Its like Espanyol saying they'll be bigger than Barcelona, Torino saying they'll be bigger than Juventus or Athletico saying they'll be bigger than Real Madrid. Even if you do achieve success, which I think you will, the history and infamy of the biggest teams with bigger trophy cabinets will always be ahead of you. You might have some temporary success, but you'll never be the biggest in the world, and neither will Spurs. Sad but true IMO. The name of the bigger clubs will always be the lure for the best players and as far as I see it, its a closed club.

Partly true but there's room to become a lot, lot bigger. We or Spurs might not be able to fully become clubs as big as the examples you give (those aren't just big clubs, they're a tier beyond really) but there's room to grow into becoming a club nowhere near as far behind.

Take clubs that are already 'big' but not one of the two of three biggest in their country, like Lazio or Atletico Madrid. You're telling me if they had a an era of dominating their domestic league (say 3 titles in 5 years for the sake of example) and winning a couple of Champions' Leagues they wouldn't be able to thought of as much closer on a par to the 'super clubs' ? Of course they would IMO. They might be able to completely overtake them but they'd be a damn sight closer to them. Things aren't as static in football as your defeatist attitude seems to think.

Saying City, Spurs or even Rochdale can never be a "big" team is absolute tosh. It's usually said by someone who cannot see past their own lifetime. Historically, Egypt, Greece and Rome were the world super powers. I'm sure some short sighted idiot said that they would never be overtaken as well ( the USA was not even in existence then ). Times change, super powers change get used to it.

Had to post something on there. They are so bitter. Calling the Europa league and stuff, when we all know they will end up in it soon enough after dropping out of CL.

Like I said to them if you drive an Escort and win the Lottery you buy a Lambo, so here we are going getting the Lambo, but paying over the odds to get it first.

I wouldnt buy a lambo, Id look a right knobhead in one...

Exactly. It may not happen straight away, but a period of sustained success will change or image across the World. That's why we all hope the Sheikh is in it for the long haul.

'Its like saying tottenham will be bigger than arsenal.' Theres another one to add to your list richie. Espanol!?behave.

Gosh I hope you Spur fans reading this don't mind awfully if I switch my attentions to the "Transfer forum", as I'm dying to see who we've been linked to in the last ten minutes......It's SO exciting.

Toodle pip.

Spurs are the vultures of english football. At least we bring through good players . Ledley king granted, but even he's a bit of a myth im startin to think. Lets just sit back and watch harry cock it up inevitably.
