Bizarre chance encounters

I used to fly to Kazakhstan on a chartered flight from Astraeus airlines. The pilot was regularly Bruce Dickenson. He sometimes walked down the cabin to say hello.

Summer 2013 I think, definately not last summer anyway. I parked the car in the little car park next to Swansea bus station. This is next to the grand theatre. Was leaving as a bloke arrived and was at the machine close to my car. Gave him my ticket as Id only been there a few mins. It was Phil Jupitus, didnt realise at all. Two weeks later I was in London with work and having a pint in a pub in Hammersmith with colleagues. Phil Jupitus was in there having a pint with his mates. After an hour or so I held the door open to the toilets for him as I was leaving and he thanked me as he passed. I said that in a parallel life I was sure I gave him a ticket for a car park in Swansea the other day. He shook his head and laughed, and quite rightly bought us a round of guinness

In June 1964, I was visiting my mum and new born baby sister in Sinderland Road hospital, and a I looked at the babies and asked my dad "Can I have that one?" It was Peter Swales' daughter.

Was this the one you saw?

I once saw Ted Heath in a pub near Salisbury and without knowing he was in there, my immediate instinct when I saw him walking towards me was to say "alright Ted", like I'd known him for years. Can't have had more than half a second to react. Not sure where it came from tbh, it really was a blink of the eye thing. He spent the rest of the night eying me up suspiciously.

Did you have young kids with you?

School trip to Stratford in 1981 to see a Shakespeare play. This guy in front of us wanted to use the binoculars to see the stage better but didn't have necessary coin. My mate beside me taps him on the shoulder and says "Excuse me Mr Fleetwood here you are" and gave him the coin. It was Mick Fleetwood there to watch his sister Susan in the play. On our way out of the theatre Mick was removing loads of flowers from a limo to give to the cast. (Have to say we were all slightly disappointed by his behaviour as he never even said thanks for the coin etc.)
