I don’t understand your point? What I would say from experience is criminals drive cars, what better way to catch them then to stop cars; a person disqualified from driving often more likely to get prison time than if the same person committed a burglary unfortunately.

As for your first 'point', millions of people walk these streets; how many are randomly stopped by police and asked for ID without profiling?

What percentage of success for catching criminals do you think is obtained by this method?
