Same here. Ozzy’s knack for picking guitarists was uncanny. I actually loved Jake possibly the most. Him playing Bark At The Moon is one of the most exciting things I’ve seen.

Not seen it, so what was the actual cost of regular on the pitch tickets for this Villa gig then?

Haven’t a clue have seen different prices quoted,I’m sure someone will give us the cost for the gig,I won’t be going,I wonder if it might get televised though..

Just seen them:
£262.50 for regular pitch standing tickets (ie behind the “gold circle”).
In the stands it starts at £197.50 up in the gods at the stand at the far end, and increases in price from there.
 
Love Sabbath, they've got some of the greatest metal albums under their belt both with Ozzy and Ronnie James Dio and having seen Ozzy on 4 occasions in the 80s and again with Sabbath on The End tour and again the rest of Sabbath playing as Heaven and Hell with Dio I'm happy enough to pass on this occasion. Ridiculous prices, Sharon's milking it for all its worth and will probably own half of Sababths legacy when Ozzy goes. Apparently he can't walk anymore, so wil he be sat on a throne or something? Probably be autotuned to fuck. I'm sceptical yes lol!

I saw Queensryche at the Academy 2 earlier this week for £32 and playing to about 500 people or less and as the kids like to say these days 'they smashed it'. Then there's the Smashing Pumpkins tickets going on sale for the Halifax Piece Hall later this morning at a quarter of the price of Sabbath so i'll try for those. And finally i'm going to the Pompeii Amphitheatre in August to see Norwegian band Wardruna become only the second band in history to play there after Pink floyd. So the Academy, Halifax and Pompeii in the Summer and i will still have change left over from the price of a Sabbath ticket.
 
Not massively into them but I was lucky enough to see them at the MGM Grand in Vegas on September 1st 2013. It was the first day we landed in Vegas and we wanted to go but thought we'd have no chance of getting tickets. All the ticket outlets we went to on the Strip were saying it was a sell out but we decided to go up to the MGM Grand on the off chance. The girl in the ticket office said they still had a few hundred tickets left so we bagged two. Have to say that despite us being jet-lagged to fuck it was a cracking gig and Ossie's voice stood up really well. It was helped by the venue too. Not only the acoustics but our seats were near one of the aisles and unlike the AO or the Co-Op Live it was a piece of piss getting a beer - I could nip down onto the concourse and get served in seconds. Oh, and get this - the tickets were only $59.50 each including booking fee!
 
Would only pay those amounts if Prince came back.

First saw Sabbath when I was 15 at the Free Trade Hall in 75. I was deaf for days. Then in 78 at the Apollo, where Ozzy was wankered and of course a young Van Halen destroyed them. Lastly at Apollo in 80 with Dio, which I left early as that wasn't Sabbath for me.

Last saw Ozzy at a gloriously hot and sunny Donington 84, (Great line up: AC/DC, Van Halen, Ozzy Osbourne, Gary Moore, Y&T, Accept, Mötley Crüe and Tommy Vance was the DJ. We, like a lot left for the pub after VH)

That'll do for me.

I was also at Donnington in 84, still got a red Motley Crue t-shirt and black Monster of rock t-shirt and the ticket stub. God knows i got them all home, i must have worn them all over what i was already wearing. I only wanted to see Accept and Y&T as I loved both bands at the time. Ac/dc was the first band I ever saw so I have a soft spot for them. Crue were brilliant, sadly I thought it was all downhill after those first 2 albums though and ive never listened to much else by them. I was too leathered to enjoy Gary Moore but I do remember Parisienee Walkways and I remember waking up and lying there watching Ozzy shouting 'C'mon' as he does lol. Van Halen were probably as good as it gets in 1984 and arguably the best band in the planet that year. One of our mates got on stage, not sure he made it to Eddie or Dave before being thrown back into the crowd. Great days and great memories of when life seemed so much simpler to do and enjoy anything with less of the restrictions the modern world imposes.
 
Money well spent.

More worried I've got to navigate Aston at 11pm.

Still love a bit of Y&T.

Donington '84 was my first proper outdoor concert. Stayed to the end as our lift wasn't budging. From what I remember plenty of piss thrown, Van Halen not living up to the hype, ACDC definitely living up to it, bars shutting at 3!

Big canons then...fuck off!
