I'd be pissed off if we play youngsters in this and get knocked out.
I wouldn't we have plenty of matches already. now if fa cup games/fixture pile up went against us in the title race, then I'd be pissed off.

Shay Facey is really coming along well so would not be a risk and is more attack minded than if Boyata was moved to right back. Garcia has his critics but moping up behind Rodders and James would let them express themselves more.

Lopes for the width he provides with Silva floating should cause damage. Would be nice to have a Jovetic or Guidetti to play instead of Negredo but their time will come.

It's the FA Cup, I guess Pellegrini will treat it with the same respect as Mancini did. Clichy surely should play this time so we can use Kolarov's attacking skills at home against West Ham in the League Cup. That being said, I would go with a right back who is great at attacking so my choice would be still Zabaleta, then he can rest in the League Cup game. Unfortunately, I didn't see more of Facey but as others posted, I would leave Boyata on the bench and start him against West Ham.

Any news on Richards' injury? I know he did some training for some days now.

Must admit I would like to see Lopez again. It's hard to believe it's only 12 months since his Watford debut goal. It all seems to have stalled a little since then for him and his performance against Wigan in the League Cup wasn't the stuff of headlines.

Really needs to be given another chance now as there comes a time when players have to show their worth for real. Personally I hope he does get a chance and shines as even having his attacking option on the bench is more of a threat than what we had on the bench at Swansea.

pantilimon, boyata, rodwell, garcia, clichy, milner, dzeko, lopes, lescott and a EDS right back, maybe this facey people are saying.

All of these players must feature.

I know this leaves me one short so I'd probably play navas then swap for nasrim(or vice versa). We desperately need yaya, silva, negredo, zabaleta, kompany to remain fit this month.

Can't understand why we aren't bringing up a proper right back from the EDS team? Surely that's better than playing Boyata out of position?
Drury or Facey play there I think for the EDS, dont think there ready for the first team yet imo.

Wouldn't play Boyata either as hes gives nothing going forward and as Clichy will probably play that will mean we would have absolutely no width.

Hope Denayer gets a starts or is at least in the squad. Been brilliant whenever I've watched the EDS this season. May be a good chance to give Lopes a go as well.

From what I've seen of him, Facey looks decent. I think it's hard to tell if someone is ready for the first team without actually throwing them in there! I think it's worth the risk.

Denayer has been really good, I would like to see him get a game for this one too. Going out of the FA cup wouldn't be a nightmare, with our fixture pile up it would be a blessing in disguise, so I think the risk of loosing with young players is worth taking. Then hopefully save the bulk of the first team for the later stages. Like in the league cup.

Pantilimon

Boyata Kompany Nastasic Clichy

Rodwell Yaya

Navas Silva Milner

Dzeko

Get a few player rested, but strong enough to beat Blackburn. Once we go 2 goals up take off Yaya for Garcia, Silva for Guidetti and Navas for Lopes.

Prediction: 3-1 City
Silva, Yaya and Guidetti

Just slightly off topic, whats with the trains to Blackburn on Saturday, someone at Swansea yesterday said you cannot get a direct train, does anybody know whats happening?
