I would like to put into some sort of perspective, today's tired looking performance.
From the 1st Dec to the 4th Jan, City have played 11 games winning 9 and drawing 2. Now to me that's a hell of a lot of games in such a short period of time, and given that there have been a fair few injuries, I think the squad and management have done remarkably well to produce a sustained high level of performance and results. A lot of tough games have been played against some good teams (Bayern, Arsenal and Liverpool), teams have been played fighting relegation (Fulham and Palace), a few teams have been played that were/are on decent form (Albion, Soton and Swansea), then lastly teams that have a chance of a giant killing have been played (Leicester and Blackburn).
In this run of games the football has been electric at times and plenty of goals scored, so I'm more than willing to cut the guys who played today, some slack as this period of games over Christmas, has set the team up beautifully for the remainder of the season.
So please like me show your appreciation of what has been achieved over the last few weeks, and take a step back and think why we weren't at our best today.
Well done Manuel and the boys, keep up the good work.
