Not sure about a friendly, but we lost 1-0 in a League Cup game first leg in August 1997. We won the return 1-0 but lost on penalties.

For years she always thought we saw every city fan we knew at a game included my brothers who had left home by then
She thought it was hilarious that one of our neighbours turned up in the seat in front of her
She also thought we were all two faced for jeering a poor performance and then going crazy at a late equaliser!

We drew 1-1 in a pre-season game on 16th July 1997, Nigel Clough scored !!!
They then knocked us out of the League Cup 4-2 on penalties the following month.
