Blackpool fan dies after trouble at Burnley match

It's the modern world. Equally, although the evidence doesn't look great as to why he was at the scene, we shouldn't assume he was there for trouble.
I heard the Burnley fan arrested and released on bail is a straight goer with Burnley and England and not a hooligan. Early days yet, still a stupid needless loss of life.
if the stories are correct that the guy who died attacked the pub and tried to kick someone in the head , got twatted and died , i feel more sorry for the guy that twatted him if he was just having an after match pint.

I've since seen a video of the incident. It looks like it's shot from across the road and on my phone hard to make out individuals. About 15-20 blokes fighting outside the pub. The usual back and forth, wild kicks and punches, shoving and it looks like at least one glass thrown. One guy gets hit and goes down out cold and lies motionless. A few start attending to him then the video stops. I would imagine this was the victim. It looked like just one punch and I didn't see any kicks or stamps, the bloke was obviously unconscious. He was definitely in the thick of the trouble. Senseless and tragic.

Years ago a game between Gillingham and Fulham got a bit tasty. Both sets of fans were let out at the same time and in those days you had to go through any alley way to get out. A group of Fulham fans bumped into Gillingham fans and a little set to kicked off.

A Fulham fan was knocked out and sadly died. The guy who did it was no hooligan but by all accounts a decent chap who was in the wrong place at the wrong time. I think he claimed self defence and got a sentence.

Point being that it ruined his life as well. He didn’t go looking for lumber but it found him and these things can happen in the blink of an eye.

Obviously it’s sad someone had lost their life but football hooliganism is no joke. It’s been glorified the last few years and lads think if they chuck on a bit of stone island cp company and adidas munchen then you are a bonafide boy. Not respecting the fact that if you do find yourself in a situation then you can have your pants pulled down and end up seriously hurt.

All in all it’s a grim situation and one that hopefully some people will use as a wake up call that this is not a game and if you find the wrong pub or wrong people then you are at risk.

The narrative seems to have changed from a completely innocent grandfather murdered in cold blood to a fully paid up member of Blackpool’s firm paying the price for his lifestyle.

I’ve no idea what the lead up to the incident was. It’s perfectly possible that they could be a group of lads on the piss, stumbling across some away fans. Followed by some verbals and what that led to.

From the Twitter footage, it looks like the sort of incident that would be followed by a hundred comments of “handbags” without the tragic ending.

I doubt anybody on here knows if he was in the game or not. It’s irrelevant anyway. A bloke is dead.

He goes to the matches and is a well known face. Well known in The Armfield Club on Bloomfied Rd. Blackpool has a group of fans called The Muckers who I believe he is involved with as well. Think Muckers are similar to our 1894 group as oppose to hooligans.
Like has been said earlier he certainly doesn't look like an innocent party in the video.

Unless the video online is completely fake, there’s no question that he was a completely innocent bystander.

My post was more aimed at those who went from a million RIPs to a small step away from.. well he deserved it, if he was in the game.
