I really liked both.

Didn't fully appreciate the original until recently, and think 2049 does it more than justice.

Probably covered in the vid you linked but can't watch it yet; I think the answer is yes, and so is Soldier (1998 film), I believe.

I thought it was better than I was expecting it to be - the original had fairly mixed reviews at the time, subsequently its reputation has surged. Very, very hard to live up to what people hoped for. It did pretty well.

The original is simply wonderful. I remember going all the way to Birmingham to see a special preview screening of it. I loved it but the critical reception wasn't great at the time. However, its standing and influence grew over the years. Remains one of the most visually stunning movies ever made.

Another who has tried several times to watch the original and never made it to the end. I haven’t watched the newer one neither.
I may have to try and watch it again.
