What if the entire team began a rousing chorus of 'You fat cheating bastard' after he'd given another penalty of the type that goon did v Wolves in PL2 they'd all get Blue Cards and would the opposition be able to score again 'cos there'd be no one on the pitch. We could have been two up before the soft pen. Would we all come back ten mins later, and would the ten mins be added to Added Time. What if there were only nine mins left? Would we win that game? How long before the game becomes a pantomime? I fancy it's time we rebuilt the Hippodrome on Ardwick Green.

I suspect if they knew they would get sin binned for doing so, that they probably wouldn’t sing the chorus.

I actually think it’s a decent idea if they use it for diving and actually crack down on it. Players might think twice - at the moment it’s just a yellow card which, for mainly attackers, isn’t much of a deterrent.

It's not. The referees already have a rule for diving. There it is below. Just start applying all of the existing laws, not just the ones you fancy.

Since the turn of the year, we’ve been much better at not committing such obvious ones. Rodri’s gone a few games without a booking.

Still on 7. 9 more games until the threshold moves to 15.

Absolutely this. There's no risk in diving in todays game apart from embarrassment on the players part and even those that get booked laugh it off.

If blue cards come in I do think you'd get attacking players being sly and baiting defenders in to trip or pull them back though.
