Blue Moon Top 100 Bands Artists - Full List of Artists (pg 287)

Blimey! Expected them higher.
Oasis and The Smiths are gonna be top 4!

anyway, Pink Floyd. Superb.

You can't underestimate that Mancunian influence BH.

I wouldn't be surprised if one of them tops the band at least you can lay more claim to than most of us here namely the stones being a hammer through and through when in truth if its based on output , longevity and practically ever other measure you care to name they are not even in the same ballpark.

I liked the Syd era, that was melodic, but after that bland, boring slow drudge. Whinging and moaning about everything.
Sounds a bit like the output of some of posters on here :)

They weren't in my 15, but I like a bit of Pink Floyd - back-to-back albums Dark Side of the Moon and Wish You Were Here combine some great music with interesting thoughts on a variety of subjects. David Gilmour is a superb guitar player and if you like a bit of atmosphere in your music (no, not Russ Abbot), then they are a good band. Again, don't understand the one-liner throwaway comments and vitriol.

Not in my 15 but a band that I like a lot. Think I have all their post-Sid albums and seen them in concert but only post-Waters; also seen Waters and Gilmour live. Gilmour's guitar sound is often worth the price of entrance.

They made a contender for the greatest album ever (DSOTM) although its follow-up is my favourite Floyd album and one of my fave albums, full stop.

They are one of the biggest bands of all time for good reason.

Nah, not for me, Astronome Domine was the best thing they ever did.
Lucifer Sam, See Emily Play, Arnold Layne, brilliant clever melodic inventive music.
I think Gilmore is overrated as a songwriter, guitarist and singer.
Waters wrote some good tunes but ruined them by his boring social commentary.
I even prefer the German Pink Floyd, Eloy.

Good call...Especially It Bites ...John Mitchells solo in the live version of Wind That Shakes The Barley just blows me away.. Sends shivers down my spine.. I met John Beck the keyboard player once, great guy. Spent an hour talking to him.
Thank you Dabz.
Never got to see them live in either incarnation.
WTSTB is an outstanding track.
Great you met John Beck - I’m sure he’d like to do more IB - he is the driving force.
Such an underrated keyboard player and band.
