Blue Moon Top 100 Bands Artists - Full List of Artists (pg 287)

@Mad Eyed Screamer
Thank you for you kind and sinister offer, but in fairness to all those who have taken part, I cannot accept your offer. Plus, I am allergic to cats.

So there you have it. After all the discussion, debate and banter, points alone could not separate the top two. But in a 93:20 moment, The Beatles just about edge it to be crowned the Blue Moon Forums best band given that 24 voters picked them versus 20 for The Smiths.

Thanks to everybody who took part and made this a worthwhile experience.

Cheers for that Rob. Enjoyable as always. The Beatles on top as nature dictates…..but too close for comfort!

I've been out of this since the top 50 really, but have to say, would have rather seen the smiths top it than the beatles. On a Manchester based forum, nothing wrong with that.

For all the praise and reviews the Beatles get (obviously, I recognize they had some excellent songs), I am yet to meet anyone that actually listens to them. And by that I mean not claim to listen to them, or name their songs, or hum along whem they come on the radio, but actually consciously chooses to put an album on and immerse themselves in it.

I wonder how much the recent Disney documentary swayed those few votes sd well.

Allow me to rectify that. You have now! :-)

I could, beacause same as now they’d have 3 good albums, personally don’t think only 3 good or even very good albums warrants top 10 in best bands of all time poll. That’s democracy for you.

I kind of get what you mean (in general rather than re oasis), but I really don't think it matters. I went with and I really lone listening to, not ones whose place I
a list can justify through analysis of their repertoire and volume. It's not a music critics' list, it's just a stuff we like list, and that can be any number of albums. I had stuff in there that I don't even particularly rate myself, but had meaningful songs at meaningful times in my life and felt deserved it more than bands I think highly of but feel little connection with.

I listen to their albums.
Love them.
