Deep breath . . . . . .
A literal Who's Who of dinosa . . . errrrrr . . . I mean "classic" rock, except somehow there's Kraftwerk in there :).
I think in parsing this I'd have about one-quarter or so on my list of top 100 too, give or take 5 bands. Still most surprised that Roxy Music missed out. Not surprised The Cars did but I really like them too -- three really good records and two pretty decent ones out of their first five. Nice to see some love for the underrated Molly Hatchet (I think we talked about this before).
I'll forgive you your ELP and Styx and Journey. I can see the appeal though they are an easy target for me (and everyone else) to criticize. I'll forgive harmless fun like Loverboy and Eddie Money (a local lad, as in San Fran) cuz I liked their hits . . .
But . . .
Your #26 is unforgiveable. Not only does Motley Crue suck enormous donkey schlong musically, but Vince Neil is up there among the worst human beings to ever grace a stage -- not only is he Sammy Hagar with even less talent (were that possible), he's a drug-addicted, drunk-driving, multiple felony-committing woman beater. He's disgusting. And now he's fat as Stephen Howson too.
Moreover, in one song he boasted that he could reach orgasm in ten seconds. Think about that for a second. He actually BOASTED ABOUT HIS PREMATURE EJACULATION PROBLEM. What a fucking idiot.
Music is one thing, but I draw the line at untalented, evil, stupid human beings. And he's all of those.
