Yep, surprising how little he is rated over here.
Just finished reading the excellent biography by Paul Rees (highly recommended), and it's notable that reference is made to comments by Bob Dylan and Johnny Cash who both state that Mellencamp is one of America's greatest ever songwriters.
The same comment I made earlier about Van Halen applies here: Mellencamp was lucky to get in the top 100 - just wait until I start revealing details of those who missed out.

Much better than their newer stuff which I also like. Biff live is a great experience they put so much energy into it. Can’t think why I didn’t vote for them now!

Just thinking that, im listening to Biffy right now and just saw them in the list......although i really only listen up to Puzzle. Blackened Sky being my fave!Good to see Biffy Clyro and the two Welsh band there. All three on my long list.
