Yes - Not heard an album for these, prog rock has grown on me in recent years thank to a few on here - we've had early genesis, Rush, King Crimson - all i've enjoyed, so i'm sure i'd enjoy these when i get round to them
Marvin Gaye - Motown/Soul, some amazing hits. not really my genre thouugh
Simon & Garfunkel - bridge over troubled water (album) is one of my favourites and 'The Boxer' one of my favourite ever tracks. great harmonys.
Morrissey - was expecting The Smiths, but not Morrissey - done some good stuff for sure and love a few of his solo stuff but surprised to see him this high - mad eyed has been using different user accounts.
The Fall - never heard any of their stuff. shame on me.
The Clash - London Calling' is a superb album, great band
that's unfair, for some to admit that brings real shame.
The Yes album comes first for newbies, followed by Close to the EdgeI bought a Marvin Gaye deluxe edition of "Let's Get it On" (2nd hand) several months ago ago. Double cd and it took me ages to get round to playing the second disc of outtakes etc but turned out to be some neat stuff on it. I don't have a lot of Soul in my collection but the very best Motown stuff is great.
You should try 90125 to begin with on Yes and then go back to the Yes Album.
Live Aid didn't save them but it did boost them because they were the best act on the day; that's because they have always been a fantastic live act.
I've seen a lot of bands live and few bands delight their audiences more or produce better audience participation. I have seen every Queen tour from Night at the Opera onwards, in whatever guise, and they never disappoint.
SawHave you listened to the early albums. They are great hard rock for the most part. Quite bombastic and OTT but wonderful, if you like that kind of thing, which you might not.
Saw them at Manchester University and the Palace theatre, superb heavy rock performances.Have you listened to the early albums. They are great hard rock for the most part. Quite bombastic and OTT but wonderful, if you like that kind of thing, which you might not.
