Bluemoon Angling Thread

When I was considering fishing again I had a look on youtube for inspiration, and this guy seemed unpretentious, and clearly loves all kinds of fishing. Reminded me of those 80s John Wilson series on tv, in this episode he fishes the Wye for chub(my fav fish) and barbel using feeders and freeline.

I've seen him on YouTube several times. He does a good vlog about fishing a small river. He's an experienced angler who puts the fun back in fishing, without blinding people with science and angling terminology. Seen him do vlogs on sea fishing too

Fished this place, Frandy reservoir yesterday with the club

Frandy Fishery | Frandy Fishery

Its up in the hills above Gleneagles and is a venue that we usually visit once a season. Its one of those waters that can be very good or very difficult. After having to detour via Stirling because of a landslip near to the fishery, we were greeted with the information that it had been fishing 'rock hard' and the fish were likely to be deep.

And so it proved. In ideal conditions, overcast, about 15C with a light breeze we toiled and toiled for fish. Up and down the lines, a variety of fly choices. I finished with two, one on a hot head damsel, the other on a neon straggle cat booby. My boat partner blanked and the 12 rods caught a total of 15 fish all in. One member accounted for 7 of those. I spead home in anticipation of a fabulous evening in front of the TV. That proved to be worse than the fishing.
