Funny that. The same holds true for fly fishing for Rainbow. Although Scotland has Menteith thats really about it although Harelaw is making a good fist in the last year or so. The north of England? V little. However if you live in the Midlands, the world is your oyster, Rutland Water, Grafham, Pitsford, Ravensthorpe, Draycote, Eyebrook..........all within an hour of each other. All brilliant fisheries.This is why I moved to the Midlands ,(but don't tell the girlfriend as she thinks it was to be with her). The fishing is miles better and especially for a Northern angler used to scratching out a few small roach from the Bridgewater.
Curious thing though, although the waters are stuffed with fish, they will insist on piling more in on top so it becomes .
The happy medium, I guess, is the rivers but they're taking a pounding from abstraction and cormorants or otters.
