For the lads who have a lot of experience lifting (FI, QR and dirty H plus others). What's your view of focusing on the negative part of a lift? This week I have been playing around with my routine and with my two last sets on each lift taken 5 seconds on each negative. I have not suffered with doms for a long time but fuck me this week has been bad, I just hope that it will so benefits!!

My gym have just got a couple of the full range of X-Force equipment in that works on the principle of initial lift for 3 seconds, hold for 1 and negative for 5. The best bit of it is whatever weight you have on the lift, the stack tilts 40% as you hold for the 1 second, so the negative is a 40% increase. the gains i'm having from these machines is unreal compared to free weight routines I was doing. You only do 1 set at 10-12 reps and it's doing it's job for me so far.

That's the gym I go to, 3-5-1 those xforce machines are pretty good!

How do you find them mate? At first I was getting bad DOMS but now I don't seem to struggle at all.

The person who designed those machines owns the gym, so we've got 12 ( might be more ) different machines 4 of each. I've only been doing them for about 3 weeks. I'm surprised how much I can lift in such a small space of time. I probably go 2-3 times a week but the instructors say you only need to do it once a week if you diet properly, I haven't dieted at all yet!

DOMS is good. If you stop getting them you need to change it up a bit

Cheers for that mate, even when im really struggling to push out my 10th rep and I mean struggling to where i've burst my ear drum! How come i'm not getting them anymore? I have upped my protein intake and on recovery days take BCAA's also take them if I train fasted and that is the only change i've made..

Alright fellas,
Still on my way to losing weight, not doing too badly. Cut alot of the shit out of my diet, alternating between insanity workouts and 3 mile runs every day so getting a lot fitter that way and losing weight.

Still struggling with my diet a bit I think, it is mainly snacks that kill me.

Any recommendations for any "healthy" snacks that I can buy in?

Fruit, yoghurts, protein shakes, nuts, rice cakes?
Cheers mate will go shopping and got all them in. Any specific fruit or nuts better than others?

Also I have just joined the gym and I would like some help if anyone can with regards to what exercises I should do each time and what reps etc.

Here is the equipment I have got, Seated lat, seated row, incline press, Pec deck, punch bag, treadmill, rower, cycle machine, cross road thing, hip flexion, leg curl, dumbbells and bars.

Going to do the standard Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Different part of the body each day!

Cheers lads.

Hey bud, I find the best thing myself when it comes to snacks is buying my favorite fruit which includes Bananas, Apples, grapes if cheap enough, peaches. Have them in visible sight in the kitchen and either don't bother getting any chocolate/crisps or get something really small. Works a treat for me. This weather will help with the fruit too.
