Bluemoon Fitness Thread

I'm trying to get back in to running again. Did 6 minute running followed by 1 minute walking - repeated 5 times. Going to continue with this adding a minute to the running time until I get to 10/1 and then start cutting out the walk breaks.

Bit depressing thinking back to the time just 2 years ago when I would run 20+ miles every Sunday and now I don't even do a mile without a walk break. (I could but the overall mileage at the end would be less as I wouldn't be able to go as far.)

I'm also trying to eat more healthily, mainly cutting out bread.
Now having cereal instead of toast and crackers and cheese instead of a sandwich at dinner. Also, trying to cut meal size down for my tea, even if it isn't the most healthy option.

At the time I didn't even think to look for one, I just saw it had the usual free weights and other equipment and signed up.

Not Croatian mate, Bulgarian.

Also; <a class="postlink" href="https://www.dropbox.com/s/hdoihn4hyw17wpu/Deadlift.mp4" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">https://www.dropbox.com/s/hdoihn4hyw17wpu/Deadlift.mp4</a>
Can you fellas look at my video I did today of me doing a deadlift to tell me how my form is.
Watching it back myself I think my back is arched too much as I "bend" down to begin the lift?

Would that be right?

The form's poor mate but no big deal at present, people 'deadlift' for years and still do it wrong, for a simple lift it's actually easy to get wrong, could do with some bigger diameter plates so you're not starting so low, but failing that if you can put something stable underneath each side that will help.

Here's a video of a lad I know which you can learn from, watch how he sets himself before each lift, then look at his position and set just prior to when he starts the move, notice that his head and neck is up, straight and looking ahead, an important part of helping keep your back straight, then watch how he powers through mainly using his feet, legs and hips rather than his back, you'll notice very little back work until the final portion of the lift, notice how his head and neck stay perfectly still throughout (very important that), then lowers the weight, make sure you go through all that each time you perform a repetition,

Personally, I wouldn't go beyond 6 reps on 'deadlift' mate, I've explained the reasoning before on that, I will again if you need me to, but anyway here's the video <a class="postlink" href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A9EU63JZmHA" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A9EU63JZmHA</a>

Do you look like that now?

If not a bulk wont happen in 3 weeks!

Of course I dont. I would need 3 years to get anywhere near that and even then I would never achieve arnold arms

Just 3 years eh mate?

You'll become very popular with your pharmacist in those 3 yrs........

In all honesty I dont think I could get near that. I read his autobiography and he was training from the age of 14. At times during his Mr Olympia days he was doing split days of 8 hrs a day and an hour at midday on a specific muscle, that just 1 muscle for an hour. Also he was bang on roids but then there was no stigma to them back then
