Went "insane" yesterday in the gym with my cardio despite being on my fast day (5:2)

Feeling it today! Headaches and just feel like I have no fuel!

Couldn't get off the sofa to go the gym so will have to be tomorrow. Gutted tbh.
As Winston Churchill once said "when your going through Hell, keep going."
Seriously though, if you feel like you need a rest, have one, nothing worse than overtraining. Remember "train dont strain" .

Training on a Fast day, imo,is stupid, especially so if youre going balls to the wall.

Train intelligently, keep things simple and stimulate not obliterate.

For me,adequate/correct nutrition is the absolute key to smart training.

Why is he fasting though? I never ever fasted, even when I had to go from 16 stone to 14 to compete.

So it's just the one compound movement x 10 per session?

I've completely lost my mojo at the moment, hurt my back which meant I've missed over a week's worth of gym sessions, coupled with a wedding, my diet has gone to pot. Need to get back on the horse ASAP.

Yep,just the one.....

For example squats at 60kg

10 reps

60secs rest

10 reps

repeat for 10 sets.

You wont get all ten out initially, you'll start failing about set 7 or 8,just do as many as you can until the ten sets are complete, dont alter the rest period!

When all ten are achievable up the weight a nats dick!

It might be the impetus you need mate.

Will give it a go next week, looking forward to the funny looks after 10 sets of squats...no-one in my gym seems to squat.

I'm also gonna try this and let you know how it goes FI.

Had my shirt off today playing football with my nephews and my folks hadn't seen my torso this year, to hear my folks say " wow look at your 6 pack" made all the strict, clean dieting seem worthwhile. Cannot wait for Ibiza in September.

FI can you recommend any really good ab exercises mate?

Great thread Damocles.

I work all over the place so can't predict when I'm going to hit my Gym.
I always have sports bag in car with kit beause I know if I go home first after a long journey home I won't go to the gym and be on the couch watching something on telly if I let myself.

Good effort Sam.

Abs wise,i did supersets of bench leg raises with hanging knee raises.

Obviously coupled with deadlifts and squats, the abs and core get a good blast.

To be honest though,i never really did them that often, much like my arms, they seem to take care of themselves with good diet and heavy training.

Looking forward to your opinions on GVT...!!
