I am going to drop my calories further as well.

Here is what I am looking at starting on Monday.
Breakfast – porridge with fruit.
Snack – Protein shake or fruit/nuts & raisins
Lunch- Meat/fish with salad & brown rice /or baked potatoes
Snack- Protein shake with nuts or yogurt/ rice cakes low fat cheese etc
Dinner – Meat/fish with dark green leafy veggies i.e. asparagus, spinach, Broccoli

Then stick to these rules;
Limit starchy and refined carbs where possible.
Drink 2 ltrs of water every day
2 pieces of fruit each day
Vegetables every day
Alcohol only on weekends
Eat 3 main meals + 2 snacks

I already do most of these bar the the refined and starchy carbs.

Going to go shopping on Sunday and get some big bags of dried fruits and nuts etc as well as more veg, sweet potatoes and also brown rice.

Looks decent enough mate, but I'd avoid the highlighted above, they generally have a far higher sugar/fructose content, so you want to avoid eating too much.

Your not kidding, i picked up a packet of dried apricots in Waitrose the other day and nearly fell on the floor when i looked at the packet, it would've been better to pick up a Mars Bar?

check the calorie content of everything you intend to eat

some things are really surprising when you first start seriously checking....

you might then want to skip, or skimp, on the nuts ;-)

Hi all,

The garage gym is getting a revamp so I'm trying to get hold of some new gym equipment. I'm finding quality bars and benches can be found reasonably priced brand new, but I'm really struggling to find a pair of rubber hex dumbbells. I was pretty stunned after shopping around that the price range for 2 x 15-25kg is between about £75 and £100!!

Are there any PTs on here that know where some cheap ones are going - new or used, or could advise if I can get them at trade somehow?

Cheers folks

Just had a quick look on eBay and there are a pair of 17.5kg hex weights being sold by someone in St Helens. He's asking £50 for them and you have to pick up.
