On Spikes trip. Well organised as usual. Only downside the result and passport control.
Great time in Lisbon. Fantastic city despite the number of beggars and being offered drugs on numerous occasions.

Anyone else come across the lazio fans at the front of our stand? there were about 8-10 of them, most wearing city scarfes and joining in all the songs. Only young lads 18/19 at a guess and really respectful of city and our fans. They were big mario fans.

Yip I seen them but was informed that they were Roma fans.

Great few days in Lisbon, arrived on Tuesday and met a couple of Benfica fans on the train from Faro, they insisted I went for a beer with them when we arrived in Lisbon, then the Metro to Restauradores got the hotel sorted, went for a dander round Rossio square and was speaking to a married couple from Munich (though he was a Hamburg fan) that had been in Porto at the weekend, went to a game there, then to the Benfica game on Tuesday night and they were staying for our game on the Thursday, go the Metro out to the stadium of Light and seen a bloke in a City track top, spoke to him as you do, and he was a russian over supporting Zenit.
Top quality time in Rossio square on Wednesday evening and then most of Thursday at the Pic-nic bar before and after the game, with a trip to Hennessey's for a Magners thrown in for good measure.

Superb time apart from the performance, but then I should be used to the game spoiling great trips, but it is happening less often now.

It was a great trip and, as always, well organised by Spike, Miles and crew. Thank you everyone.

That passport control fiasco was a complete joke. I had a word with the 2 guys standing behind the booths, who just seemed to have been called when the first shouts went up for more windows to be opened, and they said "Write to the Government..............you are preaching to the converted................... we are just the workers"!!!!!!! I was very, very, very, tempted to say "Well you are not doing much work at the moment are you?" but the presence of the 3 policemen stopped me.

Actually it was because I really, really needed a cup of 'proper' tea!!!

I spoke to those 2, they were in fact coppers and one of them got really arsey. He told me to write to my MP. I persisted, and they did accept that it was a shambles but as it was the Borders Agency responsibility there was fuck all they could do. I really do dislike the police.
