Because Colin was different to all those players. That’s why he has a stand named after him. So I understand some didn’t see him play but I must admit I thought those that hadn’t would understand just how good he was and how much he contributed to our history. Plenty of reference material to look at.You mean people who didn’t see him play in the flesh? Why not complain they didn’t vote for Lee, Summerbee, Tueart, Doyle, Trautmann etc?

I had Colin at number three but it is all about timing. When I was young in the 60s and 70s all the older fans used to say Peter Doherty was better than Bell but football is always about a moment in time.Because Colin was different to all those players. That’s why he has a stand named after him. So I understand some didn’t see him play but I must admit I thought those that hadn’t would understand just how good he was and how much he contributed to our history. Plenty of reference material to look at.

Yeah, I suppose. I shouldn’t be critical of those that didn’t see him. I never saw Colin play, so I couldn’t in good conscience vote for him as a favourite. Same goes for Trautman, Meredith etc.
