Bluemoon's Official Top 100 Favourite Manchester City Players

He was my number one. I often wonder why he is overlooked for things like this. I know David and Vinny are greats in their own right, but I suspect if you ran a poll for the greatest player and asked non-Blues to vote, he would finish top comfortably. A true great ...
Good thing this forum isn't about people's opinions.
(I had Bert at #1 but that's only IMHO and boyhood memories talking.)

5. Yaya Toure 110/1225

Gnégnéri Yaya Touré (born 13 May 1983) is an Ivorian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder and last played for Chinese Super League club Qingdao Huanghai.

Touré aspired to be a striker during his youth and has played centre-back, including for Barcelona in the 2009 UEFA Champions League Final. However, he has spent the majority of his career as a box-to-box midfielder for club and country, where he has been regarded as one of the world's best players in his position. One of the greatest African players of all time, Touré was voted African Footballer of the Year for 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014.

Touré began his playing career at Ivorian club ASEC Mimosas, where he made his debut at age 18. His performances attracted attention from Europe. He had stints with Beveren, Metalurh Donetsk, Olympiacos and Monaco before moving to Barcelona in 2007. He played over 100 matches for the club and was part of the historic 2009 Barcelona side that won six trophies in a calendar year. In 2010, Touré moved to Premier League club Manchester City, where he scored a number of key goals, most notably the only goals in the 2011 FA Cup semi-final and final. He also helped City earn their first league title in 44 years.

On 2 July 2010, Touré signed a five-year deal with Premier League club Manchester City for a fee of around £24 million. He was issued squad number 42, the reverse of the number 24 shirt he wore at Barcelona, since Patrick Vieira had already been allocated number 24. The move teamed Touré up with his elder brother Kolo, who signed for City in July 2009 from Arsenal.

On 16 April 2011, Touré scored the only goal of the game in a Man of the Match performance against Manchester United in the FA Cup semi-final. Touré continued his Wembley success by scoring the only goal in his side's 1–0 win over Stoke City in the 2011 FA Cup Final, ending Manchester City's 35-year wait for a major trophy, and writing himself into Manchester City folklore in the process

It was announced on 4 May 2018 that Touré would leave Manchester City at the end of the 2017–18 season.

Number 20 for me and it was touch and go if he made it at all. Absolute fantastic player though.

Vincent Kompany was born on 10th April 1986 in Uccle, Brussels. Graduating from the youth leagues at Anderlecht when he was 17, Vincent played for three seasons between 2003-2006, moving to Hamburg in 2006 and joining Manchester City in 2008 at the age of 22.

Francis Lee would later call Kompany “the best centre-back ever” to play for the club in 2011, a year that saw him as part of a F.A. Cup winning and Champions League qualifying squad.

During the 2011/12 season as Captain, he would lead the squad to victory in the Premier League with a nail-biting win over QPR in the final game – one that saw Joey Barton attempt to headbutt Kompany.

The club would next win the Premier League in the 2013-14 season, with Vincent scoring City’s second goal against West Ham in the final match of the season.

From 2015, Vincent was plagued by recurring muscular injuries that marred the 2014/15 and 2015/16 seasons. He made a triumphant return in the 2016 League Cup Final, defeating Liverpool and being named man of the match, but exited the Champions League campaign early with injury.

Kompany’s determination to succeed for his team was evidenced by him returning as soon as he was fit to do so, earning him the respect of his teammates and supporters.

In the club’s Centurions year, Vincent managed 17 league starts, suffering further muscular injury, but he scored the second goal of a 3-0 victory over Arsenal in the 2018 League Cup Final.

Vincent’s leadership meant that he continued to attend the dressing room even when not playing to lead the team as Club Captain. His legendary goal against Leicester, giving City a vital 1-point lead in the Premier League before the final game of the season proving the claims that he was one of the greatest Manchester City players of all time. This was his only goal for the club outside the box. Aguero, Sterling and Guardiola amongst others would recall shouting for Kompany not to shoot from 25 yards, Vincent sent City fans from all over the world into hysteria with an astonishing finish into the top corner of the Leicester goal. The goal placed City one point above Liverpool prior to their final game against Brighton. City won the game at Brighton which resulted in Captain fantastic leading the team to their fourth domestic trophy of the season.

Vinny a proper leader of men. When people talk about Mancini getting Manchester City that's right but no player from overseas has got what it means to be Manchester City more than him imo. Absolute legend and would love to see him back someday. Having said that Dave was my number one and is not only my favourite player but would be number one in my greatest as well. A sublime genius and genuinely humble guy. We are blessed to have seen so many great players in this modern era and I've been going for over 40 years

3. Sergio Aguero 120/1947

Sergio Leonel Agüero del Castillo , colloquially known as Kun Agüero, is an Argentine professional footballer who plays as a striker for Premier League club Manchester City and the Argentine national team. He wears "Kun" on his shirt, a childhood nickname based on the title character from the cartoon Kum-Kum. He is widely considered as one of the best strikers of his generation and one of the best players in Premier League history.

Agüero began his career at the Argentine Independiente. On 5 July 2003, he became the youngest player to play in the Argentine Primera División on his debut at 15 years and 35 days, breaking the record previously established by Diego Maradona in 1976. In 2006, he moved to La Liga side Atlético Madrid, for a transfer fee of €23 million. During his years at Madrid, he established himself as one of the best young players in Europe and won the Don Balón Award, Tuttosport Golden Boy and World Soccer Young Player of the Year. He scored 101 goals in 234 appearances for Atlético, while winning the UEFA Europa League and the UEFA Super Cup.

Agüero moved to Premier League club Manchester City in July 2011 for an undisclosed fee in the region of £35 million. On the last day of his debut season with the club, he scored a 94th-minute winner against Queens Park Rangers that earned City its first league title in 44 years. In the 2014–15 season, he won the Premier League Golden Boot. In November 2017, Agüero became Manchester City's all-time highest goal-scorer, scoring his 178th City goal against Napoli. He was named to the PFA Team of the Year in 2017–18 and 2018–19. He is currently the 4th highest goalscorer in Premier League history, and the highest non-English scorer in the history of the competition, with 180 goals in the division. He also holds the record for most hat-tricks in the Premier League, with twelve.

Sergio Agüero has carved his name into Manchester City history as the club’s all-time top goal scorer. This City legend was a record signing for the club at £38 million in 2011. The Argentine made his debut for City on August 15th, 2011 against Swansea at the Etihad and then went on to score 30 times in this title-winning first season. One of City’s most iconic moments belongs to Agüero, as he scored the crucial 93:20 goal to beat QPR and seal the Club’s first Premier League title at the expense of Manchester United, on the final day of the season in 2012.

Kun has been crucial to the success of the club and he has 13 medals to show for his nine seasons of incredible service: Four Premier League, 5 Carabao Cup, 1 FA Cup and 3 Community Shield form the Argentine’s collection.

My number one hard to separate the final 4 I had

1 Sergio
2 zab
3 Silva
4 kompany

All great servants to the club, great attitude and never any bother. Sergio got 1 because tbh he is a cool mother fucker and did the hardest part of the job better than anyone else. The amount of goals is immense including the one that gave us the best feeling ever.

Zab was a supporters player, left everything on the pitch

Silva was beautiful to watch

kompany was the leader and apart from a period where he slightly irked me he was utter class, that Leicester goal wow what a moment.

Maybe if he'd buried a few more penalties he would have been number 1 :P

If it wasn’t for niggling injuries he would have had a chance at shearers record. Desperate for him to get back and bang in a load. If he doesn’t get to number 2 on the PL goals I will be gutted. Think he is running out of time.

Last time I checked he was number 1 goals per min.
