Bluemoon's Official Top 100 TV Shows

Two more for me - Homeland #9 and Stranger Things #5.

Not sure I'd describe Stranger Things as fluff. I'd argue that it's the finest in it's genre, which is well-plotted coming-of-age / sci-fi crossover. I can see why some might not like it, but it reminds me of a lot of 80s material directed or produced by Spielberg and that's no bad thing.

Homeland just got better as the series progressed. Much though I like Damian Lewis as an actor, and his character was very good in the opening series, I think things got bogged down when they spent too long focussing on his family. Once the show concentrated on Carrie, Saul and Peter Quinn, it was dynamite.

Stranger Things first season was pretty groundbreaking but didn't warm to second series at all.

Homeland is excellent - disappointed when people say they gave up watching when Brody died, it did have a little lull afterwards but the last few seasons have been very consistently good.

really difficult getting to a top 20 given the volume of choice but Madmen would always be in my top 10 and Stranger Things was, well, fluff.
the world would be boring if we all liked the same thing I suppose. The half time queue for a pint would be a tad longer if we had 7,800,000,000 city fans for one thing.
It's good that we all have different opinions.

I think any police drama lower the "The Bridge" is a crime.

It was definitely better after Brody exited. Peter Quinn was a far more interesting character.

Well, I've never watched Madmen; although it's one of the series that I may try.

Stranger Things was actually my #4, which was maybe a bit high in retrospect but it's something that my daugthers and I binge watched together.

I love it's setting both in time and location and as BH's precis says: several themes and directorial aspects were inspired primarily by the works of Steven Spielberg, John Carpenter, and Stephen King - my favourite director, another of my favoured directors and my favourite author. It uses its inspirations brilliantly and transports me back in time.

Homeland nearly made my 20 but I thought the series lost its way at times.

Cracker was on the list that whittled down but was never going to make the 20; probably top 50 though.

Didn't vote for Eric and Ernie but I have a fondness for them that I suspect many people my age share, beyond the 8 that did vote for them.
