Not as obvious, for example, as the ashley young assault on SergioAbout as obvious a pen as you could see, Bruce didn't even try and contest it.

I was also in the Stretford end seats that night along with a dozen or so other blues dotted around in the same block, it seems like there were more blues in the united sections than there were in the scoreboard end that night!! To be honest those last few away derbies before the Premier league , we seemed to have loads in the United sections ...89/90 (Brightwells welly) 90/91 (Hendries OG) 91/92 (Curly wurlies pen).I was in the United seats behind the City fans that night. Got pelted at the end but a good night which would have been great if Whitey had finished that chance.
Thats one more time than a lot of united "fans" I know.Weirdly enough this was the only time I've ever been inside old Trafford. I was only 15 and there were a decent crowd of us from Middleton in the Stretford Paddock bouncing about having the fucking time of our lives.
Never once felt moody due to the numbers of blues and the goal was fucking bedlam!! I moved abroad not long after so my abiding memory of that shit hole was a good one.
Yeah, you are right.... Great celebrationsThat person on Curle's back actually ran from the United end!
Don't think Coventry was that rough to be fair late early 90s...Loads of old City away games on you tube where City fans have celebrated a city goal in the home end. The Coventry game first day of the season 91-92 possibly is good, Quinn scores and about ten City fans jump up in a packed section of Coventry fans, I imagined they got a rough time after, lol
Think this maybe a thing at OT, a Villa fan I worked with said he got hit by a pie thrown at him as he walked up Warwick Rd to the match. Dickheads !So many talking about pies being thrown, rags must have been holding onto them in case they saw City fans celebrating or singing. What a waste, who does that? Just eat the thing.
Only ever been once, the start of the 85-86 season. Great turnout from City that dayDon't think Coventry was that rough to be fair late early 90s...
May have bin a different story 70s 80s......
The trips to Coventry with City early 90s were wild.a proper all day long party. We brought huge away support...
It's great when you go highfield road and take over the ground.
Remember a little conservative social club tucked away of beaten track we used to be there early doors.
Happy days,
Yeah went in there once as well, but mainly remember the Mercers Arms pub we used to go in down thereDon't think Coventry was that rough to be fair late early 90s...

Am I remembering right when I say the Mercers Arms had two huge rooms, each with their own door. One was a home room and one was an away room?Yeah went in there once as well, but mainly remember the Mercers Arms pub we used to go in down there

I was 16 like yourself and yes when Brightwell wellied it, it was at a perfect angle to see it fly in from the Paddock. I felt there was at least 150 blues in that section behind the dugouts.I was also in the main stand paddock when Brightwell just wellied it. We had bought tickets from a tout outside.. from memory we paid £30 which was a lot of dosh back then. I remember there were about 50 blues congregated together singing and shouting throughout. We were right behind the flight of the ball when he wellied it and so had a great view of it flying in. We were never touched by any rage, altho I recall be a bit careful getting out in case of of them tried picking us off..
Cheers for posting.i was there.standing away terrace behind goal.
Brilliant atmosphere.
Nearly 30 years later, and I’m still far too upset that White missed that sitter at the end.
Probably because I still remember queuing from 11.00pm the night before they went on sale to get a ticket.
Never knew that…but I’m still upset!!! ;-)His son was born that day I think? Called him Sam - everyone said after Sam Ellis.
