BM Golf Comp '13: **Important Update-Vote!**

Right well it's been a fascinating few weeks with the Final Series, with the big guns finally churning out some big results which means that there were tonnes of points scored for the past few weeks. Henrik Stenson won the Race to Dubai to win both tours, becoming the first European to achieve that feat. The second point of information is that due to the fields at the Nedbank Golf Challenge and the Northwestern Mutual World Challenge, the league season is being extended to the weekend of December 5th-8th, so we still have 3 more weeks left to secure vital league points, here's your table:

1) PhuketBlue 17115
2) mindmyp's_n_q's 16745
3) jerseyblue 16330
4) Wizard 15880

39) Tenerife Blue 6070

So PhuketBlue is hanging on in there at the top as he looks to finally secure a title this season, whilst ohfk has had a late surge and dumped Tenerife Blue into the wooden spoon spot.

Onto the Final Series, the final opportunity to win a trophy this season. There were 10 left from week 2 of the Final Series, and Turkey provided lots of points, but who made it through to Dubai?

So TCM snuck through at the expense of the 2 blues and angleseyblue had a narrow lead heading to the final week in Dubai, but could he hold on?

4) The cookie monster 1770
5) ReturnoftheMac 1615

So congratulations to angleseyblue who cruised to the maiden Final Series trophy, scoring an average of over 760 points per week, an extraordinary performance.

This week is an unusual week as it's the World Cup of Golf. A few big names playing, a lucrative purse and it's being hosted at the magnificent Royal Melbourne GC. It's a dual tour event but the European Tour is also heading to South Africa for it's winter swing, with Charl Schwartzel the key attraction in what is otherwise a nondescript event. So your categories are:

World Cup-ISPS Handa World Cup of Golf-Category C.
European Tour-South African Open Championship hosted by the City of Ekurhuleni-Category F.

Enjoy!

Ok guys have been hectically busy in the past few weeks finishing up term at uni, so this has been delayed somewhat. Anyways let's see whether PhuketBlue could finally hold on and seal the deal and win a trophy this season, the title nonetheless. Here's your final table for the 2013 season:

36) ohfk 6875
37) ickle~blue 6785
38) maccadon 6745
39) Tenerife Blue 6130

So in the end PhuketBlue cruises to a well deserved Championship victory, winning a trophy this season for the first time at the 4th attempt. P's & q's holds off jerseyblue for the runners-up spot whilst Tenerife Blue picks up the wooden spoon for a miserable showing this year.

It's been an interesting if slightly unfulfilled year really. Adam Scott kicked us off in fine style winning the Masters, before Justin Rose held off Big Phil to storm to the US Open. Big Phil bounced back in style to storm to The Open whilst Jason Dufner stunned everybody to secure the US PGA in what admittedly was an underwhelming major. Then it was the story of the resurgence of Henrik Stenson, who stormed to success winning both tours with Race to Dubai and FedEx Cup victories, and in the process becoming my golfer of the year. Tiger Woods runs him a close second with 5 victories, however he will reflect on a year of missed opportunities, failing to win a major and letting several great opportunities slip. Rory McIlroy, Luke Donald, Lee Westwood, Sergio Garcia, Keegan Bradley, Bubba Watson amongst many others will reflect on miserable years and will look to bounce back in 2014. It's been an interesting one for sure.

Well done Phuket.

Thank you for all the work you have done this year JMC.

Congrats to all who took part and hope you all have a great Christmas.

First attempt at this so well pleased with 5th.

well done to PhuketBlue on his victory.

good comp, thanks JMW for all the hard work that goes into this.

I knew I'd Phuket up...... ;)

Well done JMW a cracking competition and your hard work much appreciated.
Congratulations Phuketblue consistent to the end.
Angleseyblue 760 points each week in the Final Series deserves a Swedish Alcopop when we next play Holyhead!..... Bandit!

Thanks for doing the comp JMW

I can see a changing of the guard over the next few years
Young rookies are going to win lots of tournaments both sides
of the pond next year most of them are fearless off the tee and hit the ball a long way

Harris English is one player I picked as a freebie at the start,he has played really well this year winning once and $4.7mill in two years on the main tour

Are you doing this comp next year JMW?

Thanks to JMW for running this competition at times it can be hard work doing these types of things.

Well done to Phuketblue on winning it well played you deserved it a top 10 finish after taking a few risks is better than nothing.
