i will admit that the bnp vote in manchester is lower than other areas like burnley, barnsley etc. and theyve never really had much of a presence in the city.barney10 said:The Hope not Hate campaign that ran in Manchester with close co-operation of Searchlight the GMB and Unison achieved its goal as the BNP turn out didn't go up. We can versed numerous wards in the City and not once did we face any opposition which leads me to believe that this City is basically one of tolerant open mind people.
The question we face now is how do we encourage people to go out and vote across the region, what really needs to happen is for people to go out and be active in there local parties whether that be Labour,Lib Dem etc..
And so you don't make the mistake, Hope not Hate is seperate from Unite against Fascism ( there the one's out on the street)
is the point of your campaign to get potential bnp voters to vote for anyone but the bnp? do you not see a problem with this? there are very genuine concerns in the country in particular regarding job security and housing which have not been addressed by the main parties. encouraging people not to vote bnp is all fine and dandy, but not when they dont have an alternative. why would they vote for labour or the tories when both parties have continually let them down?
