Board games...Are they a thing of the past?

!RISK" the best board game by far, ordered it for Chrimbo and played it the other night as a trial session with kids and their partners - they loved it and have been googling risk strategy in readiness for the Chrimbo day get together
Anyone else get this? It's not on any lists so far

Remember it well - back in the day it came with gazillions of multi coloured blocks of wood

I remember Travel Go. Had to move round the world picking up souvenirs and avoid messing up and being sent to some distant dump such as Vladivostock or Skegness.

Thats the one haha, played it for hours on end.

Risk is top, loved playing it pissed up at uni. Also used to like Screwball Scramble.

Used to love playing game of life, not really played any fir ages other than trivs pursuit every Xmas.

I play board games with the junior blues. Monopoly predominately and another one where you have to get all your pieces into around the board while the other players try to catch your pieces. No idea what it's called, the box is long gone and we just keep the bits in an old shoe box.
I know that cluedo is under the Christmas tree. I haven't played it for years but hopefully it's as good as I remember.
Tried and failed with Pie Face this year but it's not a board game as such, just a game of chance.
I'm crap at operation though, I'd make a dreadful surgeon. My PI insurance premiums would be astronomical.

Aahhhh Manchester City Monopoly, been trying to get rid of mine for years, been on ebay loads of times. It is perfect having only been used once, the wife told my parents i would like it, i fucking hate monopoly.
