OH NO Mr P!!!!!

I'm sorry but none of the said players have scored a hat trick yet and they've both played for City for several seasons.....Stop making excuses for them!!!!!!

Sack Mancini!!!! ;)

Can we please all learn from previous players....Time is the key.

No, as I don't see too many posters writing off Boateng and Kolarov. Most people on this thread are worried about the more immediate match on Wednesday night and whether those two are the best pick for the Arsenal game.

Boateng is clearly a CB, he's not comfortable going forward despite being able to put in the odd brilliant cross. I thought Kolarov would have shown more by now, he got worked over badly. Not writing him off but not expecting great things either.

Thought both were poor today with AK having a mare tbh.

Trouble with modern day full backs is that they are expected to be great going forward which is fine as long as it doesn't stop them performing as they should defensively. Both players need time to settle and gain full fitness but today was worrying, especially with AK as he got done for pace with alarming ease.

I agree that Boateng will be a CB eventually.

On today's performance, Zab and Micah for me against the Arse who will attack both full backs with lots of pace.

Kolarov had one really bad moment against a fast, fresh sub in Phillips who came on just like AJ does for us and ran around a tired defender. Phillips also went around Zaba the same way once. He's fast and did a good job. I thought our FBs were fine.

Phillips came on at HT, Kolarov should not be tired by then!

Mancini is a clever guy...no way will he play Kolorov against Walcott.

Perhaps not, but I think it was a bit into the half when that happened. (Of course, after my New Year's last night I could be mistaken on the timing.) I think Phillips was helped out by how far forward Kolarov was playing as well. From what I could tell of the formation, someone should have been providing a bit more cover, but either way it's going to sometimes cause a problem when the fullbacks are supplementing the attack so often. I'm not trying to gloss over the mistake, I just think we have to give credit where it's due concerning Phillips.
