have the whole two pages "kicker magazine" interview here in german language and he said

"It's true that I have agreed a four-year deal with Bayern. Now it is up to Manchester City to make it work. At the moment they are making things a bit difficult."

Seems like it was the english media who got this one right then.

Maybe we are making things difficult? Perhaps demanding certain things before we let him go. It could be something really trivial to something major, either way if Boateng thinks we are making things difficult, and he is asked how things are developing, that's what he will say. No big deal.
I hope people don't start calling us 'Manchester' too, like they have United for years. One thing that pisses me off is when someone refers to United as 'Manchester'.

Drives me mad to, i have always believed JB has the potential to become a top class centre half but if he called us Manchester, goodbye

But how can Boateng just went to made a new contract with Bayern without City's permission in the first place? That means he has 2 contracts atm, if City won't let him go, can Bayern sue Boateng?

that contract is of course not signed yet.

ESPN is saying that the deal is done.

Manchester City defender Jerome Boateng appears set to return to Germany after agreeing a four-year contract with Bayern Munich.

Boateng failed to make an impression in his only season with City, a campaign which was dogged by injury and a struggle for form.

City and Bayern have yet to agree a fee for the player, but it now seems certain he will be back in the Bundesliga 12 months after leaving Hamburg for Eastlands.

"It is true that I have agreed with Bayern on a four-year deal. Now it is up to Manchester to make it work. At the moment they are making things a bit difficult," Boateng told kicker. "It is about the position. Bayern want me as a central defender. That is also an advantage for the national team.

"My dream is to have a starting spot within a year, hopefully at Bayern, and then I want to win the European Championship."

get top doller for him

coz Boateng is not premeirship class looks slow on/off the ball and i dont remmeber him heading a single ball he's got a good cross but thats it the english game is too fast for him

we have better cover players than him and we could get cahill aswell

top money please or fuck off

Is this now classed as Bayern making an illegal approach for Boateng though? I was under the impression that no player are allowed to speak to another club with the club who owns the player's permission? Sort of like Birmingham stopping McGleish from speaking to Villa. So if City don't want him to leave, then what Bayern have done by negotiating with him, is surely illegal?

According to this Bayern are denying having spoken with the player.

Maybe City haven't given permission for Boateng to enter into talks and Bayern, knowing this, will deny all for fear of being accused of tapping him up. Could be that Boateng is playing to his own agenda which might well backfire on him.

This seems to be happening more and more, the most recent being the example with Phil Jones - where his signing gets announced before a fee has even been agreed. It seems that the press are complicit in reporting this illegal tactic.

It appears that big clubs are now negotiating contracts with other teams players who are under contract before a fee has been agreed and the other club have given permission to speak with him. How and why this is being allowed to happen is open to question.

Clearly what it does do is to turn the fans whos player is under contract (in this case Boateng) against the player thus forcing the club to sell the player and probably at a lower fee then if things had followed the normal course and the player hadn't announced that he wanted to leave.

City should not be dictated to by this tactic and we should keep firm until we get exactly what we want, otherwise the player stays. We have to send a message that this type of underhand tactic will not work with City.

I'm really pissed at JB, I was one of his staunchest defenders when he wAs playing shit and now he just throws it back in our faces.

Kolorov who had a similar season in regards to performances / injuries is at least loyal and dismissing transfer rumours - this is the sort of grit in players we need, not twunts who use then disgard us at the earliest opportunity.
