Boateng to Bayern

Manchester City will not drop their asking price for defender Jerome Boateng.

The Daily Mail says Bayern Munich say they have been told a figure of £17.5m might do the deal.

That was seen as a deterrent in some quarters but Bayern are astute businessmen and it's no surprise that Boateng has now declared his intent to leave Eastlands and return to Germany.

The onus is on Bayern finding the money City want and they will be patient if necessary. City will not want an unhappy player in the camp as they look to unify the team ahead of the Champions League and a compromise is likely although maybe not until July.

Let him go, if he wants to leave and we get a healthy profit from it then theres no issue. I fully believe that Boyata is good enough to take his place, as he did for most of this season when Boateng was out injured.

Plus boateng probably leaving leaves us with another whole in the 25 man squad to fill. Did some research and the below article is quite good in my opinion when discussing last season 25man squad and how we need to improve etc. Take a look, comment and be interesting to see if any of you agree with me

We can't be every other team's woman

We are taking a major loss in EVERYONE (except for Tevez) of our sales this summer. I do not wanna see a loss in a Boateng deal as well, it's enough to lose a player like him.

Boateng agreed to come here, and the club have not done anything to justify him wanting to leave. If we don't get the money we won't, don't blame us, blame Bayern.

did he say I want to play for a big club loool

How are Arsenal doing this window, do all your best players still want to leave ?

I've said it before,... if Bayern want him then lets set up an exchange for Muller !

He has said he wants to go. As long as they meet our valuation I am happy. Decent little profit on a player that has not settled and wants out. Get the lad from Ajax for half that amount.

12-15mill is hardly half of 17.5

Actually £ 8 - £10 million has been quoted on here and in the press. Probably will be far more with us bidding.
