Bob not a happy bunny

This is natural tension between a manager who is there almost exclusively to get playing results and administrators who have to balance a wider range of factors.

Like it or not (and I don't like it any more than Mancini) we live with the legacy of loadsamoney transfers and mega-expensive discards. In a real business the deadwood would have to go first.

There are no easy answers. Just look at what Red Scouse are quoting for a brittle 28-year old and what Wenger wants for a fragile 29-year old. Not to mention Adebayor and Bridge, who can laugh at us from behind their ludicrous contracts.

Do we just pay everyone's ransom money and continue the merry-go-round?

I'm not knocking other posts though. They may be difficult problems but someone has to get a grip.

our club is in the best shape it's ever been in , we have a manager that we could have only dreamed about , and a team that is beyond our wildest dreams , we've followed an f.a. cup winning season with winning the title in the most dramatic of circumstances , and owners that 99% of clubs would have the team & the board take it up the arse from , and smile throughout , but hey , lets shit ourselves about not signing anyone yet eh ?

get a grip.

Isn't the whole thread on the fact that the 'manager we could only dream about' having is publicly saying he is pissed off not the fans shitting themselves over not signing anyone? Im not too worried we haven't I think that by keeping the squad together it can only get stronger, but clearly the manager is and he knows best.
That's the main worry. It's not us fans hearing what the media say and putting 2 and 2 together, getting 5 in the process. Mancini actually said it himself; he isn't happy. Khaldoon needs to bang a few heads together, and also tell them to keep their grievances in private.

"I am not happy but I won't say anything at the moment," he said. "For this you should talk to Brian Marwood."

as opposed to ferguson & how happy he is over transfer "warchests" 0f recent seasons , just a pity there is no value eh ? give me mancini fucking the press off over fergie talking up what even staunch rags can see is bullshit & settling for prospects & mediocre players every time.

not everything is all as it may seem.

He knew exactly what he was doing

I think we've fallen for his mind games again. Media talks up the "spat" reliving pressure from the players.

'relieving pressure from players'
- whats happening? we're not playing in the champion league final next week are we?

On the surface it seems to me Mancini was a tad out of order publicly criticising the workings of the club that employs him in that way. Unless an ITK can of course tell us why all is not what it seems!

All you have to do is look back at Mancinis career as manager and you will see him consistently falling out with boards and using media to have a go at them. Yes he can be frustrated, but he really shouldnt be talking like this.

Rapheal hoginstein summed up this with saying Mancini is still thinking like a coach and not as a manager. He just want to get rid of players and want the players he wants without any care of the financial side of things and he has to realise in England Managers are part of the financial situation of the club.

Yes he may not like adebayor, but we are talking about 25 million pound player who's on 170k a week and Mancini just throws him the reserves. You cant say adebayor is not good enough squad player. So as a manager he has to use his resources better

"I’m confident with my players. We won the last championship because we deserved to win."
"In my opinion we have a good team but we built this team two years ago."
"I think that it is impossible that two years ago you did everything perfect. You still need to improve."

That last sentence sums up my feelings as well

So the big news is a PL is manager not happy with no new players being signed by his director of football? OK it happens to be the Champions but its a regular occurrence isn't it?

Gotta go with the director on this one. It's not like when Cook was throwing money round like confetti. Take a look at our First team squad there is class all the way through. If all we wanted was a Japanese shirt seller who no one else was interested in and a kid from Crewe we'd have finished buying weeks ago. The quality of player we need to improve the squad doesn't grow on trees. It's fine for Mancini to say I want Player A or B or C but if they aren't available or are unwilling to come here then its no good blaming Marwood. Plus it does seem we are not paying silly money any more.

Look at the deals being rumoured in the press.

RVP £20mill+ for a player who's 29 not a good injury record and from a club who are reluctant to sell to us.

Agger £23mill He's not worth that so why should we pay an overinflated price for again another player who's injury record doesn't make good reading

DDR £??? Million Perfect signing for about £15-20 mill not some stupid figure.

Be nice to have them here but if it doesn't happen move on. Agger is a second choice as we were in for T. Silva so we must have other alternatives to all these players.I'm sure the experts on here could give me a dozen names of players who could do the same job as these 3.

you are talking sense. Mancini is an abrasive character and a clever Political player. He doesnt care who he falls out with but I wish he'd be more of a 'company man' in public sometimes.
