Dzeko and SWP blamed for City stalemate

Roberto Mancini laid into Edin Dzeko and Shaun Wright-Phillips as Manchester City laboured to a stalemate in Greece.
Aris Salonika 0-0 Manchester City: Dzeko denied
City boss Mancini said new £27million striker Dzeko must find his form quickly and criticised winger Wright-Phillips for failing to produce a single cross.
"I expect more [from Dzeko]," said Mancini. "He needs to improve. He's a good player. We had a great chance with him and he should have scored.
"But he has the same problem as Fernando Torres at Chelsea, because when you arrive in January it isn't easy to get to know your team-mates and the system the team plays.
"Dzeko needs to play and it's important that he improves quickly. With Dzeko playing, Shaun should be crossing the ball more.
"But we only had one cross in the second-half and that was from Gareth Barry."
City meet Aris for the return leg at Eastlands a week tomorrow with Mancini conscious of the danger of conceding an away goal at home.
"A 0-0 scoreline is dangerous," said Mancini. "A 1-1 scoreline, with an away goal, would be better, but it will be a different game in Manchester.
"Everything is open. We have a chance of going through because we play at home on a different pitch. Here the pitch wasn't good.
"I said before the game it would be difficult because the pitch wasn't good.
"Aris put 10 players behind the ball in the first-half and if we had scored they would have had to come out and play, but they could sit back and wait."
City midfielder Barry and full-back Aleksandar Kolarov were targeted by a fan in the crowd with a laser pen, in an effort to distract them.
Mancini said: "I saw this, but it's typical."
