spot on!simon23 said:Mancini is criticising his players here for playing the way he ha had them playing all season...its been drilled into the players to play the ball through the middle all season....when aj was ont he pitch he used to cut inside, swp last night was roaming all over the pitc, swapping sides, in the middle, dzeko pulling wide.....this is clearly the way the players have been instructed to play.....and then he comes out and says he wants them to play differently
sorry but it is RM that needs to give the players time if they are to adapt to playing his way
the fullbacks arent giving the width in the game either that RM now requires
he is trying to build a new system around dzeko and at present it isnt working, dzeko aint upto speed and the other players are finding it hard to adapt to him
I think dzeko needs to start from the bench a bit more and come on when games are going well....especially if balo is now up and running as he and tev (and the other players) seemed to gel quite easily before he got injured
If the tactics are wrong, the buck stops with Mancini. His choices. It's alright saying look how smaller the gap is between us and Arse/Utd/Chelsea but based on level of investment, the real measure should be against Spurs who by comparison have invested nothing from last season. We should (as we are) be in the top four now but the gap between that and fifth should be bigger.
Dzeko does MOSTLY need supply from crosses like the one he got from Micah at Notts.
Weve lacked pace/change of pace down the flanks since Bellamy went.Look what Lennon did last night/Bale does on a regular basis for Crouch.Strikers will score far more from crosses put in from fast breaks than ones put into crowded boxes.
I think we've become predictable and easy to play against. Our build up is that slow that teams have loads of time to all get back behind the ball even when they've lost possession deep in our half. This is borne out by our goals stats.Too heavily reliant on Tevez and far too few goals from midfield players.Suggests either a one dimensional approach or lack of goal scoring talent in midfield.
