Bobby Gunning For Karl-Heinz Rummenigge!

This too is sounding awfully familiar.

Stadium renaming is no big deal imo. I can't understand the Geordies getting pissed off about it, just keep calling it St.James park ffs.
EVERY fan in Germany still calls the so-called Signal Iduna park the Westfalenstadion.

It depends on the debt. Several clubs in Germany have been denied a licence and relegated, mostly from the second and third divisions.
But as a German you know bloody well that Bayern can't operate like Man United, Madrid, Barca and the rest due to Bundesliga rules.
To be fair though, you do give it a bloody good go though;

Manuel Neuer - BOUGHT from Schalke
Breno - BOUGHT from Sao Paolo
Van Buyten - BOUGHT from Hamburg
Ribery - BOUGHT from Marseille
Nils Petersen - BOUGHT from Energie Cottbus
Arjen Robben - BOUGHT from Real Madrid
Ivica Olic - BOUGHT from Hamburg
Rafinha - BOUGHT from Genoa
Jerome Boateng - BOUGHT from the mighty MCFC!!
Butt - BOUGHT from Benfica
Pranjic - BOUGHT from Herenveen
Alaba - BOUGHT from Austria Vienna
Gustavo - BOUGHT from Hoffenheim
Sattelmeier - BOUGHT from Regensburg
Mario Gomez - BOUGHT from Stuttgart
Tony Kroos - BOUGHT from Hansa Rostock
Tymoschuck - BOUGHT from Zenit

Not all huge purchase by any means (although some were), some certainly 'stolen' from other teams' youth set ups for whatever 'undisclosed' fee.

So, is FFP going to protect those clubs who sold from Bayern's undoubted financial muscle?

We paid good money. In anycase that is a bit unfair, you have spent more in a year than we have in ten (edit : I'm guessing before I get slagged off !).
Also Ribery was bought with the 25 million we got the week before for Hargreaves for instance.
The point I'm making mein freund (apologies, I was very bad at German at school) is yes you paid less than us, but principally did what all the big teams do and have done since time immemorial - strip other clubs of their best players to improve their own team by virtue of their financial capability.

How Bayern chooses to spend it's money is nothing to do with me. It is the principle that is fundamentally the same.

A - So was I mate !

B - I agree in general. Every league is going to have one or two teams lording it above the rest. If it wasn't us or you it would be somebody else.
It's not a question of who has most money but how they are financed and how the rules are set.

Anyway it's getting late here, I'm off. Catch you later.

Where was Karl-Heinz Shitface when Hoffenheim climbed through the leagues on the back of wealthy owners?? No fucking where!

Hoffenheim were indeed financed by their owner. However A - He has refused to try to buy his way to the title ala Jack Walker at Blackburn, having said that getting them to the BL was his intention then they have to sink or swim and B He is after all a lifelong fan of the club who has even played for their old boys team in the lower leagues.
He has also poured millions into other sports and charities in his own city.

Rather different to being bought as a plaything by a foreign billionaire I think.[/

You mis guided, bigoted fucking idiot. A cursary search on mcfc.co.uk will see what City are doing for charity AROUND THE WORLD never mind locally.
It seems to me it is either the German way or it is wrong. Dangerous fucking attitude if you ask me, and to think you are probably allowed to vote.

Isn't it just the system of the game. It does not even have to do much with the financial muscle. I do believe that a lot of the players do not only come because of the money but because of the challenge. But we pay a club e.g. 10 millions for a player he has bought 2 years earlier for 2 millions from a smaller club. The other club gets a good fee for his player, that is not satisfied anymore with his life at the club. It goes all the way from the smaller clubs to the bigger clubs. We are just the end of the food chain.

Today it is it that a lot of the talents do not come to Bayern as they think they have a lot more chances to get playing time somewhere else.

Olic was for free...

Exactly Maldeika, it is just the system of the game. The wealth is redistributed through the leagues through transfers. How clubs then choose to spend that money is up to them - re-invest in the squad or syphon it off to shareholders, you takes your money and makes your choice.

I think fundamentally tonight, given the posts and arguments, we seem to have agreed that City are doing nothing anyone before them hasn't done before. City are doing tremendous good for their city and their even closer community. We can see City are likely to achieve FFP status. City are building for the future. City have a plan and are not just splashing money willy-nilly for the sake of it.

So why has everyone seemingly got a big beef with City?

Status quo, disrupted.

When FFPR falls on its arse as it inevitably will at some point, I really hope Dortmund or Schalke (edit: or better yet, Hamburg!) get a billionaire owner from the Middle East and they take it to those arrogant, aristocratic, power-hungry Munchens.

So let me get this correct. When our owner borrows 2 billion over ten years from the bank of AbuDahbi, as long as we can service the LOW interest rate repayments we will be ok within the ffpr.
