Absolutely agree. For those who think this was a 'move' by Bobby or his acolytes to undermine the board or play games, answer this. What could he possibly gain from the ad? He has already gone, he won't be back, he has probably secured a nice wallet-full of dosh and he will almost certainly walk into another great job.

Just accept it for what it is - an opportunity to say goodbye to the single group of people (mostly) who have unreservedly supported him throughout his very successful tenure at the club. He wasn't going to get the chance at a home game for a walk to the center circle and a speech, so how else could he say thanks?
