Bodo/Glimt (A) | CL | Post Match Thread

It’s absolutely mind-boggling that you can blame Pep for these defeats. Just look at the squad, it’s decimated with injuries. What can Pep do other than play inexperienced young players in the heart of defense. Ffs, we’re missing key players Kovacic, Nico G, Kagool, Marmoush that could give some of our important players a break.
Yes, tonight was poor, but they were playing at home on their artificial pitch which we never play on. Most of our top players are exhausted. It’s like some of you have never played the game before. Or truth be told you’re all moaning for the sake of moaning just because we lost. Typical miserable entitled city supporters. We’re just going through a rough patch. We’ll be back just need to get some players back.

Credit to Bodo they were up for it, we never got going.

Win the next two games and everything will look different, keep the faith.
Similar to the rags. They came out of the blocks quick and were well organized.
Yep, we have to trust in Pep and hope we can get some players back.

It’s time we demand more.

Pressure is well and truly off the club due to past success. Said the same last season. The bite has gone. We are bloated with trophies and commercial money that the drive has disappeared and it trickles down to the players.

Totally unacceptable from all involved with the club right down to the players on the field. Mediocre bullshit. Get a grip or I’m going back to wolves. Least we will be playing league 1 soon.

Stick that on the tv screen at the ethiad.
We’re going through a bad patch, it happens. Every season has peaks and troughs.

In August if you’d been offered 2nd in the PL, decent chance of making last 16 in CL, firm favourites to reach the league cup final and nailed on to reach FA Cup 5th round you’d have snapped my hand off.

That’s the reality.

Not much we can do at the moment except wait for all the injured players to come back and for the new signings to bed in. We hit much lower lows last season and wound up finishing 3rd and reaching the FA Cup final.

I think serious, serious questions need to be asked about Rodri, though. Other than the 45 minutes he had against Sunderland, he hasn't put in a good performance all season. Should we be giving him a new deal? Hmm.

Start again with Wolves on Saturday.
We got outplayed by 'Bozo' Glimt and you're singling out Rodri who was out for over a year with an ACL injury

Surely a troll

Foden's corners are shite...too short on Saturday n too long tonight. Does anyone know what one arm or two arms held up actually mean ? Cherkki's are a bit more quality but fuck me as a pro footballer they have to put it on the money. They must practise 50+ a day
I'd like to think that our corner takers practice that much but somehow I doubt it. If they practiced that much then they couldn't be that bad.

One arm up, could be pudding, chips and gravy for tea. Two arms up, and it's fish, chips and mushy peas. Probably a signal for whoever goes to the shops after the game.

It's got fuck all to do with the delivery of the ball, that's for sure.

Fuck off Pep with the broken records “…….on the transitions they were really good…”

Blah blah blah every fuckin team we play he claims the same fucking shite talk about never learning

Pay a coach to teach or set up the team to cope for fucks sake

The f in rags showed us how to beat you (when we was good) on “the transitions “ years ago

for me...

Phil shouldnt be starting.
Ait nouri at left back.
NOR supporting midfield, or at left back bombing with Doku.
Start Doku.
Lewis shouldnt be starting.
Rodders on the bench unless better support.
play faster, attacking football
Score some goals
beat the opposition

Do I get the job?
No

And do what? Sack the manager? Tell the FA, PL and UEFA that we refuse to play a match every 3-4 days? Ban injuries?

This "rot" equates to defeats in the last 15 matches, which until this month included 8 straight wins and since then has seen us score 10 in the FAC and go 2-0 up in the semis if the League Cup with a home leg to play, and wee still 2nd in the league behind the "runaway leaders".

Get a grip man.
I get what you're saying but how do you explain 65/35 possession and 625 passes versus Bodo's 340?
I feel we have approached the season where teams are, once again, figuring us out. That means the smash and grab tactics; the bus parking and frustrating Haaland to the point that he's exasperated. Add in the cliff dive that Foden has somehow restarted; Bernardo's endless negative passing and woeful play by Lewis. We're in 2nd by the grace of every other teams middling performances. That can't be relied upon.

Feeling a bit of a masochist, I went on the Daily Fail website and read the comments section on their match reviews. There are so many crazies out there I ended feeling a little better - but not much.
For example, "Their strongest team beaten by little unknown Bodo".

I saw a problem early on at 0-0.

O’Reilly played in a couple of crosses but Bodo’s number 6 central defender Gundersen got there before Haaland on both occasions unchallenged.

That’s not fatigue – that being bone idle. Haaland needs benching.

Team for Saturday

Donnarumma; Nunes, Khusanov, Guehi, Ait-Nouri; Rodri, O'Reillly (if Gonzalez not fit); Semenyo, Cherki, Doku; Marmoush
Rodri was beyond poor and a pale shadow of his former self.Whether it was lack of fitness or the ravages of his serious injury time will tell. He was a liability particularly after half time. Not sure he should start against Wolves.

Finally Showed a great turn of speed, scuttling down the tunnel
