Finally sorted my freebie after a half hour wait on the phone. Tickets shifting well according to the planner but will they open up the away fans section if the rest of the ground sells out? Surely there shouldn't be any reason not to

I got told by ticket office that it would be the 24th which is tomorrow so maybe make sure you have the funds in tonight just in case

This is an example of where the club could help its own fans out a bit more imho, they know they're getting the money from those on the scheme, why do they need it a month (or more) in advance ?

Yea that would be a nice idea and a month before does seem a bit premature.
In other news my free tickets for CSKA have turned up today, ordered them online on Monday

Just claimed my free ticket for my lad. Apparently there’s not many tickets left so the BOGOF scheme is working!
They had to move us up to Level 3 to get 2 seats together, where seats are £25 instead of the £30 I paid. So not only did I get a free ticket they credited my card with £5.
I don’t know why the ticket office gets so much criticism, I’ve never had anything but excellent service off them

Good gesture by the club but wonder if it could backfire with thousands of fans with tickets that they don't know what to do with ? Odd seats all over the place.don't think its always price that effects midweek games ,work travel,school etc all play a part.will be interesting to see how it pans out as sometimes can't work round even free tickets.but still well done city!
Would be good to get the 'sold out' signs up as soon as possible for this one, then go about setting the atmosphere up similar to the Hamburg game. Why not give out free inflatables on the night? For me, that made the occasion and really got the ground going before the game started.
I had bought 4 tickets for the game and have claimed my 4 freebies. They're all going to City fans who aren't season ticket holders and definitely wouldn't have gone to the game if the price hadn't been halved. It's a great idea as the game would have been so flat without any away fans and the crowd of about 30,000.
Now, we can fill the ground and make a decent atmosphere for a change. Come on City - you've done the first bit with the tickets - now go and buy 45,000 bananas off EBay!
