Bolton Wanderers debt

I see from some posts some people don't get how there's different levels of FFP.

 • There are UEFA's rules for which they can ban you from any UEFA competition or restrict the players you can register for their competitions. That's not going to concern Bolton unless they win the FA Cup.
 • The Premier League rules which say you can only lose £105m over three seasons (with certain exclusions for spending on infrastructure). There's also a wage limit. The punishments for that are points deductions. Again, doesn't really concern Bolton, for the moment anyway.
 • Then there are the Football League rules which are very stringent and only allow you to lose £8m a season, the sanctions for which are a transfer ban and MASSIVE fines which will be tens of millions if the club gets promoted. These rules well and truly fuck Bolton over.

Garside has done well out of Bolton, he wont leave with a hole in his pocket. I cannot forget his 'We are bigger than City' speech in the nineties, wonder if he still thinks the same now. Big mistake poking the lion with a stick wasnt it?

Don't forget the lights when you leave...

I don't see it myself and the amount of debt is to high for Bolton somebody had there hands in the pot and the brown paper big is full of money under that crooks bed ( Phil Gartside )

how can a small club like Bolton be in debt to the tune of £163.00 million
something stinks big time they have never had big money players on big money wages they are a middle of the road club with old time players

the chairman is a joke and how he keeps his job a very well paid job aswell
him and fat sam must have to sleep on the top bunk bed with the amount of brown paper bags under the bottom bunk
Losing all money that comes with the premiership while having players on premiership wages is no joke. Been in the prem for 11 years so probably relied on that money.

A fall of 24% in attendances at home games
That's pretty poor as only got relegated in 2012.

but they was a middle to bottom club with small time players and old players
nothing like a club with superstar players on big money

so you say they Been in the prem for 11 years
that's some money from sky tv rights fans coming in the gates
how can they make a loss each season of 15 million base of the 11 years

the turn over from a small middle of the road club in the premier league with the tv rights is about £30million to £60million to what its today

so if you break it down Bolton had to be making a loss 15 million each season
on what defo not the players wage they would have been 1 the lowest in the premier league something stinks

-- Tue Dec 31, 2013 4:21 pm --

A big loss in the first year down was expected, Burnden Leisure made a £12 M operating loss the year before, £26 Million after players were taken into account.

The next year is the crucial one for them and the Football League FFP rules as they are exempt in the first year.

I hope they get back up soon with a few more Lancashire sides.

Yeh well, they're 'bigger than city', you can't expect their fans to go to championship games.
