My birthday is on the 4th November. As a lad in the 50's, all I got as presents were fireworks (my dad told the relatives that's all I wanted). On the 5th, there was usually a street party on the croft behind where we lived in Cheetham. All my fireworks were donated to the group.

Spare a thought for Service veterans and others with PTSD, for whom Bonfire night is a f*cking nightmare.

I personally know a guy who really suffers, and it really is not nice to see.

2 nights after the actual night, it's been ridiculous again, still going on at 11:45pm, been pretty much continuous since 4:00pm (yes in the daylight FFS), I wonder how many of these are actually "parties" that are not allowed ?

Not bad here tbh, all stopped by 8 Friday and Saturday where i am. Their is an estate where it was going off at a few houses until late with air bombs about a mile away but nothing to bad.

Air bombs though, whats the point, most of them don't even have much of a light show if any, just big effing bangs that set off every dog in a 3 mile radius.

As a 38yo i say ban the buggers, 15yo me say's make them cheaper!

I struggle to understand why you'd let off hundreds of pounds of explosives as an adult. Technically these people are doing it from a house garden with a couple of kids/people there.
