Booing the Champions League Anthem

At least be consistent and booo your souls out when our glorious City captain, surrounded by his ecstatic team mates, squad and best manager in the world Pep plus coaching team, will be finally lifting the UEFA CL trophy - while the wonderful anth... err jingle will be played for the 2nd time on that unforgettable night :))))) LOL

Pissing with a passion on the most important moment and career highlight of the players who give us so much joy in our miserable lives must be a modern way of support and a strange way to say thank you.

Anyway, most of the boooers might still be somewhere esle and bricking it. BOOOOO :))
 
I'll be booing, why wouldn't you. It's a pre-match ritual that sets us apart for one and shows our utter contempt for UEFA.

You remember UEFA don't you?

  • UEFA the corrupt organisation that fined us and PSG and restricted our squad size for FFP (to protect their golden teams)
  • UEFA the corrupt organisation that stopped our fans watching CSKA Moscow away
  • UEFA the corrupt organisation that stopped our fans watching Kiev away and did nothing when thousands of their fans showed up in the ground
  • UEFA the corrupt organisation that opened an investigation into our behaviour for booing their ditty yet do nothing when players and fans are racially abused.
  • UEFA the corrupt organisation that effectively stopped us from getting to a CL semi after rigging the VAR against Spurs
  • UEFA the corrupt organisation that thought that illegally obtained comms from a hack was acceptable evidence against us.
  • UEFA the corrupt organisation that placed a 2 year ban on us for FFP and would have seen the break up of our team to enable them to crush us. Yet allow Real M, Juve and The Rags etc to rack up millions in operating losses.
  • UEFA the corrupt organisation that thinks that 17,000 VIP/Sponsors and just 8,000 fans should attend one of their finals.

Put it behind us? When the enemy is standing in front of you, you don't warmly applaud them, you let them know what you think of them. I love that the PA annoucer at the Etihad turns down the Anthem, so it's barely audible, good on them.

And those fannies that think that 30 seconds of booing might upset our players need to get a reality check, it has no effect at all. Remember Monaco and Bayern at the Etihad, did the booing affect our delicate flowers? Did it fuck.

I think our players like the booing now. It has become our statement. It probably motivates them.
 
As anyone on the team/team management said they don't like it?

I've got a vague recollection of one of them (new player) wondering why we do it.

I also think I've read somewhere that to paraphrase Pep understands but couldn't show support as they'd fine him again.
 
I suppose at this stage it would look a bit silly if the anthem wasn't boo'd, however I can't help but think what this looks like to a global audience, with just a pocket of fans there booing on what is our debut in the final. Doesn't sit right with me, but as I say I suppose it would look stupid if they don't boo as it is almost a ritual now to do so.

The effect of the booing is that when we do it, there will be thousands who then ‘google search’ “why do City boo...?’
Try it - when you do one of the first hits is about UEFA’s dismal punishment for when our players were racially abused (as well as other grievances).
So think of it not ‘as a ritual of self-pleasure’ but a fans version of taking the knee and hi-lighting serious injustices.

Yes boo the anthem of the final that you just paid the best part of 1k to get to. That will really show them.

Also to the players who have worked incredibly hard and sacrificed so much to get us into this position for us only to boo the anthem. If I was a player I’d be a bit pissed off tbh. It is sending out a message of we don’t care what you have done or what you want we think this competition is shit (Even though I’ve just paid about 1k to get here).

it has served its purpose time to move on now imo. A lot of the big wigs who had it in for us at uefa have also resigned due to the super league fiasco
