Boring Milner

They live in a shoebox in the middle of the road, they eat the tarmac for their supper, and they're lucky to be born. Luxury!

Should that be "int' middle ot' road"?

Do we all think that James should be going to Brazil, there's arguments for and against, his versatility and experience big plus', his lack of games not so much.

Sorry... couldn't find another place to ask, and as I cannot start a new thread, I opted for using this old one. It is about Milner indeed. I was watchig in City TV interviews to Dzeko and Milner after the Everton Game. English is not my native language, but I understood very well the questions of the girl making the interview and also understood perfectly the answers from Dzeko (he is very fluent I dare say). But Milner... I could barely understand one or two words from the entire interview... what is he speaking? Clearly he has a sort of strong accent, or I need to wash my ears? Thanks!

His accent isn't strong at all. It's not too dissimilar to ours. I take it you've never been to the North of England?

Don't ever go to Newcastle if you do. You've no chance up there.

I have never been in England at all, just in transit a couple of hours in Gatwick. Anyway he is not speaking in RP at all (unlike the inteviewer) I think.

I bet he doesn't know that we're the only ones that can call someone a cock and get away with it :)

Yorite cock?

You only have to look at his performances over recent years: numerous v Spurs, numerous v United home and away, Bayern away, Barça away, the impact he had at Liverpool in the second half recently...

James Milner is a very underrated player.

There is something in the way he plays with David Silva that makes him as good as he can be though. Silva uses Milner and gets the best out of him. Milner is an intelligent player and makes good use of space and Silva seems to find Milner at exactly the right times, nobody else in our team does it so effectively, and between the two of them down that right hand side they can rip teams to shreds. It's great to watch. Arguably our most attractive play comes from this double act. Like I said though, nobody else at City really has that vision that Silva does to make the best out of Milner's runs...and likewise England don't have anyone anywhere near as good, or even that sort of player at all, to play with Milner.

Milner is still more than good enough to play for England. He has some great qualities and is a fantastic pro.

Or Cumbria; they've got their own language.
