The greatest manager in the world, but still shows he’s only human by not realising that playing all of your slowest players from the start will make you…. slow.

I used to think as long as we play any two of Foden, Bernardo or Jesus then our tempo and pressing would be on point. Now I suppose it’s any two of Foden, Bernardo or Alvarez.

Also, it shows how incredible Haaland’s finish was that they’re talking about that more than the pass. That’s up there with anything Kev’s done. Possibly one of the greatest assists in champs league history. Unbelievable skill

The most disturbing part of their performance for me was Grealish getting every single shot he attempted blocked and then dropping his head. Mahrez was not only totally ineffective in attack, but defensively he was like an extra offensive weapon for Dortmund with numerous careless turnovers resulting in dangerous counter attacks. I obviously want them both to succeed but man were they both off the pace tonight. They basically took up space and helped Dortmund shorten the game.
 
Win was absolutely crucial tonight, 2 wins over Copenhagen and its done, a loss tonight and we were going until the last game to confirm top spot. Have to admire our determination to come back, we've really improved in chasing games, we used to just do the same thing that's not working and let them see the game out comfortably, we now mix it up a bit more and bring the intensity needed. And of course have Erling ready to pounce s soon as we actually feed him. It's great trait to have, one that Liverpool had us beat on until recently.

Should never have needed it today though, they played okay, deserved to be leading until Stones had had enough but weren't great themselves we were just total shit going forward.

I said the second I saw the lineup, we lack intensity and drive from the wings and would struggle to create. The subs changed it. The front 3 that ended the game is our best front 3, and those in reserve aren't currently good enough.

Job done and thats all that matters at this stage.
