Borussia Dortmund vs Manchester City Match thread

SWP had a good game, skipping past players and dangerous deliveries.

It the whole point of these friendlies to showcase Jo to get him sold, or do you reckon there are serious plans for him? I think he could be involved in one last swap deal.

Tonights team - Hart, Kolorov (first game), Richards, Toure, Kompany, Yaya, Barry, SWP, Johnson, Ade, Jo (last game?!) - Compare to possibly...
Given, Kolorov, Richards, Boetang?!, Toure, De Jong, Yaya, Silva, Johnson, Tevez, Balotelli (hopefully!)

Just looking at that gives me more confidence, the defence will settle I'm sure plus they won't take as many risks as you would in a friendly...that's what you use them for fitness and ukin about. All the possible starters are comfortable collecting the ball unlike Jo, Ade, Barry (recently) and a few others. Chill out it will all come together and we'll shit em when it's real...

i think our defence needs a tune up lol

maybe we should pair kompany with boateng or nedum

and am i the only one who thinks we should keep jo

It's only a friendly, aye.

But I feel sorry for the ones who made the trip to Germany. Barry and Zaba 0/10. Can't wait for Tevez to return.

On a side note the referee was a joke, where do they get these guys, do they just grab some bloke off the street?
Why do you feel sorry for em?
Everyone knew it was a FRIENDLY before they booked to go

Well he has looked more impressive than Ade mind you he hasnt been cooped up in a television studio talking shite all through the world cup

Ignoring the score, which is irrelevent I saw the positives as; swp looked lively, got couple of crosses in and useful defencively, Kolarov looked the business, very able debut, Johnson a totally naturally gifted footballer, rsc looked rather good and better than ade, as did Jo actually, Yaya will be immense for us, we have carlitos and silva to come in, Micah did well, Ireland did nowt wrong really.

Negatives for me were the centre backs, ade wasn't great(admittedly I'm not a fan), general lack of cohesion which is understandable I suppose.

I've had a few so my view may be tainted but does anyone agree with any of it?

Very poor pre-season. Results don't matter but what have we learnt? What the f is up with Barry? We need a world class central defender and quick...every team has walked through us.

What i dont get is why do people over react like this when they know its only a friendly, which is used to get the squad up to full fitness and see how a player does in certain positions.

Would everyone prefer we just flog the guts out of the startin X1 and not give any of the other squad players a chance to get any match fitness. Should we try different players in different positions against spurs? Maybe we should just destroy the confidence of players before the season starts by saying "your not got get any game time even in a friendly"

Maybe its just me being optimistic but i think we'll see a team a lot closer to the starting X1 on saturday and we'll see a good performance.

I'll start the predictions

Startin X1 for valencia:
Hart, Boateng, Toure, Kompany, Kolarov, De Jong, Yaya, Silva, Johnson, Adebayor, Tevez
Score 3-1 Tevez, Ade and Yaya for us.
