Borussia Mönchengladbach travel thread

Anyone looking for hotels, We've booked Hotel Alt Düsseldorf, it's right in the middle of the action and next door to a Irish bar for a bit of culture, and train station for the game is walking distance. They have double, triple, quad rooms for about £25PPPN. I've stayed there before for a bundeliga game, it's not savoy like but owners are good craic and bars all around.

Tbh I can't see it as it's such an early game, we didn't sell out Munich for the two times we played them in September
I think that's just because we've played Munich so many times. New ground this one, very close and should be quiet cheap. Seville is way harder to get too and Juve will have the usual arse stabbing problem so I imagine most people will prioritize this one over the others.

I'm hoping to get to all three though, I know you've already booked them. What a great draw for us as fans this year!

Found a flight from Manc to cologne 30th - 2nd for £115. Bit of advice as its my first ever European away game. I'll be on my todd for it i imagine, so just wondering if there's many who travel on their own to away days in Europe? I presume its a giant piss up in bars so cant imagine ill be struggling for places to drink.

Ive been on my own before to Munich & Turin, travelling. Obviously meet up with people there but tbh i see a few travelling on their own and everyone usually meets at certain squares/bars. Keep and eye out on here for people saying where they may meet up.

Dont let going on yourr own deter you, you will have a great time!

Quite a few go on their own. Just come on here a couple days before, see where everyone is meeting up and go for it!

Also - go on the Spike trip, good way to meet and be around other blues.

I agree, it's been a great draw, which is why I decided to go to all three plus, for the first time in my working life, I'm allowed the time off work!

As regards tickets:
  • We played Munich as our first ever away game in the CL and we didn't sell out, people only have four weeks to sort out travel and book the time off work, which is the usual sticking point
  • Personally I believe Seville will be the hardest to get tickets for as you can see a lot of lads going out for the week cheaply on five day holidays to the Costa Del Sol and then getting to Seville for the game
  • Not sure about Juve. We played them a few years back with few problems. Could be the deciding game for the group, who knows?
All the cities are easily reachable through a variety of routes so we'll just have to wait and see.

When does spike normally release details?
For this one, I'd imagine early next week because he has to charter a plane. They'll be a bit more expensive than the flights you could have booked yesterday - but for the sake of being with hundreds of other blues it would be worth it.

You'll be able to get chatting to a few blues on the plane/Coaches and if you go on the day trip you'll get dropped off at the main gathering point.
